Interpretation of China’s treatment of Macron in comparison to its treatment of von der Leyen:

France is a sovereign state, and actual nation, (regardless of who heads it at any given moment), and the EU is NOT a sovereign state or nation (regardless of how it is dressed up or presented to look like one.)

This distinction should be taken very very seriously, because the Chinese (as a sovereign nation) have been in the business (as a nation) for many thousands of years, have given it a great deal of thought, and are not going to change their minds about it.

I think that a lot of us are still more than a little bit shocked and surprised by the fact that there are some people (quite a few, actually) who want us dead. My own response has been a mixture of shock, surprise and curiosity. Like, who would even bother to care that much about it as to proactively wish for the permanent removal of vast swaths of people that they haven’t even met?

Rationally speaking, wishing death upon another individual is an infantile attitude, because the actual result is not going to be the wished for and expected result. Count on that big time.

I put myself in the shoes of the medium roast bad guy. I’ve been taking more than I’ve been giving for my whole professional life. In fact, that’s how I make a living. I skim from the working people below me on the food chain. You could say that my highly profitable business model is to take 10 or 20 percent of every dollar that the folks below me produce. It’s been running great for a long time but then I notice that the stream of tribute coming in was tapering off, and decreasing ever faster very quickly. I can see that the people below me are going broke, starving and getting angry, because that’s not my problem. My problem is serious!. My income and power are decreasing! What am I to do?

I do the only thing that I know HOW to do (and therefore the only thing that I CAN do.) I steal from them even harder. They can’t stop me from stealing because doing what I tell them to do is how THEY make a living. If one of ’em tries to disobey or not give me what I ask for then I just fire them. Sometimes the troublemaker has to be jailed or shot, but usually cancellation is easier and more efficient.

As this no longer productive underling gets pruned from ‘The Tree Of Serving Me’ the sucker learns a few lessons and truths not previously fully cognizant (i.e. it learned some hard facts). And the biggest thing learned is that it had been working for a lying bastard of a crook who didn’t REALLY even consider the lower downs to even be a part of the outfit in the first place.

As the number of people learning this lesson the hard way grows (and it’s growing FAST, bro) the simple reality of the situation is that they are never going back to their previous state of ignorance, and are going to reorder their lives as best they can to ensure that they are never that wrong again.

In this way, humankind gradually and excruciatingly painfully, advances.
