Lets make it easier … Those doing the discussing were your hired actors.
July 22, 2014 at 8:29 pm #14152ProfessorlocknloadParticipantSo,,,the naive Russian still hasn’t heard what happens to those foolish enough to attempt to undermine the mighty Petro Dollar?
Somehow, the moment I heard Putin could seize control of Europe’s energy sources through Ukraine, I knew the US would be headed over there to again destroy the European Village, in order to save it.
Maybe, if many survive what’s coming, they might try and cobble together something more viable than the ridiculous “EU” fiasco that could never have worked among bickering greedy Socialist nation states, divisive in language and culture, in the first place. Not to mention at least one sitting in the center of that quagmire, with nukes!
Of course, if Germany ever gets it’s hands on like kind,,,well, given every time a German gets a gun, he heads for France….
July 22, 2014 at 8:50 pm #14155ProfessorlocknloadParticipant@ Jal,
Given the extensive propaganda applied by the US State Department to get us involved in Syria, complete with bull shit WMD’s held by the government there, and 101 you tubes to “prove” it, should one rule out MIC/State Dept. involvement in Ukraine?
I mean, Detroit could sure use a little stimulus about now, as could most defense oriented manufacturing regions.
Not if. When.
An analyst down Phoenix way has had it right for years. Defense Sector equities will never go wanting. If one is willing to compromise one’s soul, and end up on the VP’s bad side, that is.
Oh, and could we suppose anti missile batteries are on the way to Kiev as we ponder these mysteries? For the children, mind you.
July 22, 2014 at 9:25 pm #14157rapierParticipantThe NY Times is again cartoon like, just as it was pre Iraq invasion and during the war on Clinton. When the Times is 100% on a story then there is no other story to be told. If the ‘liberal’ NY Times is good with Saddam’s vast threat to the world, Clinton’s cover up of a massive fraud cover up and Putin ordering the shoot down of a commercial jet for the sheer fun of it then it has to be true.
The BRIC meeting last week meant economic war is on. I suspect that means more Fed printing as is needed, to support the war. Few remember Greenspan made 26 visits to the White House post 911, and kept rates ultra low for 3 extra years.
July 22, 2014 at 11:01 pm #14160NassimParticipantThank you Diogenes Shrugged for the video. Very interesting.
It is notable that in Australia – where the media claims that “progress” only happened because Tony Abbott “put pressure on Putin” – i.e. access to the site was provided, the bodies removed and the black boxes handed to Malaysian officials – they are busy back-pedalling.
“Having been firmer and sterner than all other leaders in his initial response to the MH17 catastrophe, Tony Abbott is now cautioning against ”facile optimism” in the difficult days ahead.
The man whose blunt language articulated the world’s initial shock, anger and outrage and set the tone for subsequent responses, now appears to be opting for a more measured and nuanced approach.”
It is sad to note that the black boxes were handed to the British – the same people who have just decided to have an official enquiry into the death of double-agent Litvinenko in London. The same people who killed Berezovsky under a deal with the Russians in exchange for photos of Prince Philip. The same people who arranged an accident for their inconvenient princess in Paris so that she does not dishonour her country by marrying an Egyptian. The same country that killed its WMD inspector – David Kelly – and claimed it was suicide. I could go on, but you should get the picture by now.

In any criminal investigation, three factors dominate – means, motive and opportunity. We should really start from there for both MH-17 and MH-370. The idea that these two incidents are unrelated in preposterous.

July 22, 2014 at 11:05 pm #14161John DayParticipantThe situation might be changing as the US backs from the brink and says Russia was not involved, probably a mistake by the rebels, to shoot down MH-17.
This is a big backpedal.

Maybe London will be impartial in it’s reclamation of black box data for the world to analyze.

Now, they are saying it was a mistake by the Separatists. They still don’t seem to have come out with any satellite data.
“US State Department “Confident” MH17 “Mistakenly” Downed By Separatists, Finds No Direct Link To Russia”
This is so embarrassing – to have such idiots trying to start WW3 for their own private reasons.
Hopefully, we will have a proper investigation of flight MH-370 in due course. The USA and Australia must provide the data that they have so far not provided.

July 23, 2014 at 12:32 am #14164RaleighParticipantIlargi – “Putin controls oil and gas, just like Saddam did, and he therefore has to be brought down.” And just like Gaddafi. Look what they did to him. I feel for Putin. Let’s see what happens. The U.S. did not get their way in Syria, and they are getting their way less and less. People all over the world are starting to see through their lies. “False flag” is becoming a common response whenever something happens.
I agree, the excellent questions asked by the Russian military and Ron Paul need to be answered.
rapier – “more Fed printing as is needed, to support the war.” Do you believe Europe will come down hard on Russia? I’m not so sure.
July 23, 2014 at 12:32 am #14165jalParticipantWould a “trained’ Russian take the fall … for a “consideration”?
July 23, 2014 at 2:29 am #14166ProfessorlocknloadParticipantAnyway it’s sliced, extensive training is involved in using sophisticated weapons systems. Blaming the trained technician isn’t how things work in warfare. The responsibility rests with whoever gave the command to fire the weapon.
Of course, the reality is the low man on the totem pole is generally the scapegoat. Usually an enlisted man, as officers are much like politicians, and exempt from blame.
July 23, 2014 at 2:33 am #14167ProfessorlocknloadParticipant” Do you believe Europe will come down hard on Russia? I’m not so sure.”
Irish, maybe, but not the Dutch.
July 23, 2014 at 4:13 am #14168Diogenes ShruggedParticipantI linked a video in the comments after Ilargi’s July 20 composition that turns out to have been misrepresented as the downing of MH-17. It appears the plane involved wasn’t even a Boeing 777. Sorry about that.
https://www.liveleak.com/view?i=f80_1402065879July 23, 2014 at 4:20 am #14169NassimParticipant“Award winning former Associated Press reporter Robert Parry has been told by an intelligence source that the United States is in possession of satellite imagery which shows that Ukrainian troops were responsible for the shoot down of Malaysian Airlines Flight 17.”
Whistleblower: U.S. Satellite Images Show Ukrainian Troops Shooting Down MH17
July 23, 2014 at 7:28 am #14170Raúl Ilargi MeijerKeymasterNot so fast on the back pedalling:
Ukraine Says Russian Officer Pushed The Button To Shoot Down MH17
Did a Russian fire the missile that downed Malaysia Airlines Flight 17? That depends on who you ask. A top Ukrainian official says he has no doubt. Vitaly Nayda, Ukraine’s director of informational security, told CNN the person who shot down the flight was “absolutely” a Russian. “A Russian-trained, well-equipped, well-educated officer … pushed that button deliberately,” he said.
“We taped conversations” between a Russian officer and his office in Moscow, Nayda said. “We know for sure that several minutes before the missile was launched, there was a report” to a Russian officer that the plane was coming, he said. “They knew the plane was coming with constant speed, in constant direction,” and should have known it was not a fighter jet but “a big civilian plane,” he said.
July 23, 2014 at 8:48 am #14171Raúl Ilargi MeijerKeymasterThis is one damning video. Not even so much because Marie Harf admits the State Department relies on social media, but because she states they specifically rely on what Kiev has posted on those media. And as I wrote, no other party has been caught bluntly lying more than Kiev. For instance, Kiev has made tons of outrageous and proven untrue statements, their BUK transport video has been proven a fabrication, and there are serious doubts about the authenticity of their audio recordings of rebels and alleged Russian officials. In other words, the State Department’s case is based on nothing. Which is curious, to say the least, for a country that boasts the best equipment on the planet: why base your case on such a questionable source?
July 23, 2014 at 10:21 am #14172RaleighParticipantIlargi – “…why base your case on such a questionable source?” Because it gives you the answers you want.
In the real world, there’s no way the U.S. would rely on what Kiev says, but if Kiev is saying exactly what the U.S. wants the world to hear, then they’ll use it.
“If” they are now back pedaling, it’s because Russia has something that they’d like to show the world, and they’d rather not have that happen.
July 23, 2014 at 4:04 pm #14173John DayParticipantThis thread is getting better.
Again, the US can use Kiev’s material, though it is likely created by Washington’s own rented advisers there, and still maintain plausible deniability.
The argument in the video is “hey, who do you trust more, Washington or Moscow?”, followed by, “I’m not even going to let you answer that”.
The shield of trust is being held up for the absolutely B-movie fabrications coming from Kiev, but that shield can be withdrawn whenever something like the black-box raw data deals it a death blow.
As Raleigh says, Russia may have something Washington wants to keep hidden.
The (raw should be released by London) black box data won’t completely reveal who shot off a BUK missile.
It would reveal if there was an air-to-air missile fired.
That would make Washington look stupid, vicious and dishonest, simultaneously.
Kiev would be too discredited for Europe to work with until the next round of elections.
Well, it my not be that dramatic…July 23, 2014 at 4:11 pm #14174John DayParticipantOh, better yet, more backpedaling.
“The missile may have been fired by a Ukrainian army defector to the rebels, who was trained in this weapon system”, is the latest US adjustment of position.
