[See the full post at: Debt Rattle October 15 2022]October 15, 2022 at 10:35 am #118477Dr. DParticipantKanye West de-personed, de-banked. I’ve never been happier. At least attacking him they reveal their essential racism, adherence to the glorious revolution, and will alert black and minority peoples to take cover and prepare. (for the attack by Communists and “garden people”) Leaving Chase to have an open field on shooting White Karens, I guess. I mean, not like they didn’t know too, but they were in FAVOR of harassing and erasing prominent black men.
“Epstein was permitted to hold funds at JPMorgan Chase despite an ongoing pedophile ring trial. Bernie Madoff banked with JPMorgan Chase. The same bank took direct action in World War II to aid the Nazis. Chase bank issued Rückwanderer marks so that American Nazi sympathizers could buy German marks for a discount. Those funds were mainly stolen from Jews who fled Germany as antisemitism was on the rise. Let’s not forget former President Franklin D. Roosevelt placed a freeze on German assets in the US at that time, which is another topic. Chase bank funneled Third Reich assets through South America to avoid FDR’s ruling.
PayPal released an internal memo earlier in the week stating that they were considering fining users $2,500 for “misinformation””

“China Conducting ‘Race-Baiting’ Social Media Campaigns To Polarize Americans: Former CIA Officer”
No—what??? So. Surprised. Is that like their mass importing of Fentanyl in the new Opium Wars?
Well, yesterday’s skinny was Nancy Pelosi wrapping up the Jan 6 hearings with a smile and a bow. Gifting the election, after holding citizens in cages without charges for 2 years. What’s up, pussycat? Well, a home video, by her daughter, where Jan 6 is rollin’ and she says “Trespassing is just what I’ve been waiting for.”
Huh. Interesting reaction. Not “I Drank Wut?” Not “Where’s my security detail?” Not “Gosh what a coincidence I demanded my daughter be filming all day today.” Nope. Just, “Finally!!!” Finally what? Not protesting, not stabbing, not shooting, not rioting, not invading, not coup-ing. Doesn’t “Trespassing” seem awfully specific? So she specifically expected trespassing and specifically had a camera crew and specifically NOT her security detail?
…And then didn’t leave? Wait, wait: Pelosi as Speaker is EXPRESSLY IN CHARGE OF ALL D.C. AND CAPITAL SECURITY. So…she expected trespassers and did…nothing? Against the specific written advice of the President?
Meanwhile, back in the AOC Batcave… A man storms in, breathless. AOC hiding feverishly under her desk. “Where is She??? Where is that Congresswoman?!?!?!” Oh wait: it was only the Capitol Police. “…And she DID die” as Shel Silverstein would say. But no, she was evacuated although the Jan 6 rioters killed her.
One thing: She cowered in fear of her life HOURS before there was any riot…anywhere. Almost before Trump started speaking, miles away. Funny she seems to have had the same amazing prescience and premonition as Mrs. Pelosi: that there would be a Capital trespass, a riot even, at this exact time and location. According to her. Huh.
But I am a coincidence theorist and neither times nor facts nor statements whether spoken or written can convince me anything is wrong.
Another amazing misunderstanding. I’m sure if there were anything to it, NPR and HuffPo would report.
Nancy Pelosi. “I’ve been waiting for this.”
Yes, we bet you have. And next sentence is you were going to use it to attack a sitting president. …Go on. Don’t let me stop you.

“Borrell: The EU Is a Garden, The Rest of the World Is a Jungle (RT) “
Wow, I haven’t heard “White Man’s Burden” to bring civilization to child-like jungle bunnies put so eloquently for a long time. Hey, Mr. Borrell: challenge you to a list of wars and numbers killed, garden vs jungle. Whaddya say? And I’ll even ignore India!
“Borrell: West Will ‘Annihilate’ Russian Army If Moscow Uses Nukes (Antiwar)”
Proving he’s both dumb AND racist (but I repeat myself), and Borrell thinks Russia will just sit around and say “Thank you sir” if the EU (actually their paid bully, the U.S. –they don’t have an army) nuke the entire Russian army. They’ll just sit around, borders open? I’d say these guys are dangerous, but the broadest mass of people follow along, nod their heads, and believe it to. Push that button! Light ‘em up!
I exaggerate?
“we delegated our security to the United States. While the cooperation with the Biden Administration is excellent, and the transatlantic relationship has never been as good as it is today”
That is, Europe will fight anyone, everyone, down to the last West Virginian, and Biden takes orders directly from Davos – I mean Europe. Borrell never crosses his mind anything about America’s people or benefit here, any costs we incur or bear, any people or opportunities we sacrifice. Why should they? America has all these jungle darkies amirite? They expressly said they can’t foregive student loans or the cannon fodder won’t flow out of the Philly ghettos. Oh yes, he makes me dizzy with hostility. How can people not see this widely? There’s barely two men shouting at AOC in Brooklyn for voting for full nuclear war.
What would have happened with Orange Man? We were withdrawing our worldwide colonial army and making Europe fight their own stupid wars for once. So the war would have never happened because NATO wouldn’t be cocky, and wouldn’t be expanding. Or did his – what? – 5 peace deals not teach you that? Nope! Never happened. OMB.
“EU Opens Probe into Vaccine Deals (RT) “
Oh! A Probe! Into whether it was illegal to purchase 1B doses for a mere 300M customers. 3 per person when we already know they will and must be perfectly useless, as the substrain would absolutely change by then. So: Corporation says “Sack the people! Drain the Treasury! We’ve never put out a functional drug yet and are going under!” (Moderna). The government then says “Yes sir! How many, sir?” How did you do the sale? I just said so. No paperwork, no discussion, no records, no contracts.
How can people not see this widely? …But this is not a jungle. This is the finest, cleanest, most orderly garden. Van der Lyden is but a delicate little flower.
“Moscow claimed that [Bucha] was fabricated to justify breaking off the talks.”
No wonder. It was the dumbest fabrication ever, but there was that Bellingcat, OPCW, sniff-the-backpack, garden hose incident in Syria. That one is hard to beat.
“the end of a financial system that benefits the “Golden billion” – who “live at the expense of others”
But these are the wee little hothouse flowers. The Garden. …And he’s quite right, MOST of Europe, like MOST of the U.S. are savaged in hardship and despair. It’s only just the 1% of the 1% of “The Garden” that are golden. Or are the Polish, the Basque, the rural Yellow Vests living it up in towns without hospitals? How’s Blackpool going? Still “white with hunger?”
Merkel signing Russian pipelines is interesting. Who was she working for? But you have to understand of course they NEED the pipelines. That was never the point, they were always and only going to burn Russian gas. The point was that GERMANY — that is Davos — would have regime-changed and controlled Russia by then. With Navalny. Wow, does that say how low the bar for Random Guidos is now, and how retarded hothouse flowers get when never exposed to the weather?
Even right now, they demand regime change. And if they got in, with no pipeline, how would they consume all Russia’s wealth like locusts? By having pre-built the pipeline to (Western) Europe. F’ the Eastern States.
So careful what chess pieces we think were lined up under Merkel. They were planning the war then, with attempts to get off (Russian) carbon for a bit, then kill all their useless carbon-users the day before.
“German Leaders Care More about NATO Than Their Own People – Putin (RT)”
Not exactly. The German leaders – like all leaders, including Biden and Blinken – work for Davos. That means they don’t care about any of the people at all. They would like to kill them, and actively do so by the thousands each day. NATO is the standing army of Davos. But most of that is the United States, since Europe is broke and incompetent, and a U.S.-only army is a problem. The Pentagon won’t sign up and has left them twisting in the wind, without nukes and incapable of starting WWIII. The war therefore runs through the Congress/Private/CIA side, which also lacks a proper army. The provocations are a dumb attempt to draw the American PEOPLE into the war. …The war we die of on behalf of Europe, or more specifically, Davos, getting less than nothing for our pain.
“Russia ‘To Repair Crimea Bridge Damage by July 2023’ (RT)”
Did find out a fact about the Crimea Bridge. It is strategic, because Russia moves the military “exclusively” by rail. …Russian gauge rail. Meaning it’s nearly impossible to move beyond the Ukie border. But that rail means supporting Crimea via the bridge rail too, as rail lines are few and unable to hide.

Clearly, today, we have to find new ways for energy from inside the European Union, as much as we can, because we should not change one dependency for another. The best energy is the one that you produce at home. That will produce a strong restructuring of our economy – that is for sure. People are not aware of that but the fact that Russia and China are no longer the ones that [they] were for our economic development will require a strong restructuring of our economy.

Nazism
– a form of socialism featuring racism and expansionism and obedience to a strong leader
I don’t find that definition to be accurate.
(1) other than utilizing the word “socialism” in the name of the Nazi Party, it didn’t adhere to *any* of the then-current or historical trends and philosophies of socialism. (At the time, socialism had split into 2 camps, the socialists and communists. Socialists wanted to reach socialism’s traditional goals through normal governmental processes, while communists favored taking over the government via revolution to achieve traditional goals of socialism — there was a lot of awareness that the French Revolution was seen as the turning point of capitalism in continental Europe, and many thus believed that a major economic restructuring could therefore only be achieved through bloody revolution.) The Nazi Party was not interested in traditional goals of socialism and, in fact, hunted down actual socialists and actual communists (i.e. members of those political parties and movements,) imprisoning and/or executing them.
(2) “Racism,” “expansionism,” and “obedience to a strong leader,” were all symptoms of the new method of government that burst onto the scene in the early decades of the 20th century, namely, totalitarianism. They were all components of Stalin’s USSR as well (although, the USSR’s expansionism was toned down by comparison — it held a vast region already, was invaded multiple times early on in its existence, but, oh, did it ever hold onto those “Eastern Bloc” countries after WWII.)
I suggest that it is important to name a spade a spade: calling Nazism “socialism” muddies the waters with the multiplicity of definitions and ideas that have existed about socialism in the past couple hundred years, and causes people to not clearly comprehend exactly what Nazism *is*. And it is my belief that a wide, general understanding of totalitarianism is very important going forward, as the 21st century is flirting audaciously with variants of 20th century totalitarianism.

Oh the irony!October 15, 2022 at 5:59 pm #118487jb-hbParticipantNazi Party was not interested in traditional goals of socialism and, in fact, hunted down actual socialists and actual communists
sigh. sure, sure. And if you were an Arian sect member in late antiquity, you would use language such as “The Catholics were not interested in traditional goals of Christianity and, in fact, hunted down actual Christians”
And you’d say that if you were an Arian, a Paulician, a Nestorian, an Eastern Orthodox believer, etc.
There’ are some great educational videos by youtuber TIK explaining this, for example:
—-Hitler’s Socialism | Destroying the Denialist Counter Arguments
—-National Socialism WAS Socialism | Rethinking WW2 HistoryConsider, if you will, The Crusades. The Crusaders viewed Saladin as an incredibly formidable foe, both as a leader and a fighter They also saw him as a great cultured, honorable, chivalrous gentleman. Somehow, the supposedly full-on evil Europeans of the time held up Saladin throughout the European continent as a paragon of virtue.
Or consider that the Crusaders and the Saracens managed to ally against the Mongols.
Consider instead the religious wars in Europe between Catholics and Protestants. Look up something called “Swedish Drink,” for instance. One of countless savageries. You don’t see that type of deliberate repeated over the top awfulness in the Crusades. Surely the looting, pillaging etc you see in every medieval war, but not THAT.
Why were Christians more savage to each other than to the Saracens of a different religion altogether?
Because nothing inspires revulsion and rage so much as blasphemy FROM WITHIN your belief.
So you told us “They couldn’t be socialists, because NAZIs hunted down “The” Socialists”
Translation “They couldn’t be socialists, because the socialists hunted down the socialists”
Were the Communists in charge of the USSR not Communists? Did they not hunt down every Trostkyist Communist they could find even in other countries?
Nothing fills the faithful with more rage than blasphemy and heresy
The predominant Socialist movement to this day is INTERNATIONALIST Socialism. They have become so dominant and strident now that if someone thinks there should be ANY limit to crossing borders, if someone suggests ANY concern to protect working class American jobs or bring some jobs back for working class Americans, the cries of outraged accusation that, in code, or outright, mean “NAZI!!!” are immediate and deafening?
But wasn’t the working class supposed to be central to the socialist position? You see the hierarchy of values revealed. INTERNATIONALISM is the holier value.
So different sects broke off. Like the Catholic Church, one became a big winner. Now, having won, ANYTHING smacking of nationalism deserves unreasoning rage. And of course, a continual distancing from that other sect of the same religion is essential.
And of course it is important to make distinctions between the two meanings of “socialist.”
As an adjective, meaning “socialistic” I suppose, there are quite a few left-leaning people who would say that programs to humanize society can be helpful and are desirable. But these are not socialists and are not in favor of Socialist policy. They just think yes, it is reasonable to have some socialistic measures. Surely. SOME educational measures, help for out of work workers, etc, CAN be a net value add for society and we can therefore afford it where it is EFFECTIVE.
Ask a SOCIALIST
“at what point do you have the right amount of Socialism?”
“What do you mean?”
“Well, you know, like, at what point will the mix of private/capitalist and socialist/government stuff reach its perfect balance?”
“I’d like to say something evasive right now and pretend to not understand your question”
“Well ok, let me put it like this. At what point would you draw a line in the sand and fight to stop FURTHER adoption of socialist methods?”
“Is that the Space Shuttle over there?”
Open Borders is INTERNATIONALISM. Try having THIS conversation.
“What would you say is the optimal maximum population for the US and what would be the optimal influx of new people per year”
“I’d really like to be evasive right now”
“well, ok. Let me make it simpler. Is 3 million per year a good number? What about 1 million? What are the advantages to that?”
“I’d really like to be evasive right now”
“Well, ok, what if we cut to the chase here and move all 8 billion people within the borders of the US. Would you be happy then? Everyone here and no one not here finally?”
“pshaw pshaw that’s silly”
“but IF YOU COULD, would you be satisfied at that point vis a vis open borders?”
“oh but I only want people who DESIRE to come to the US to have free ACCCCEEESSSSS”
“OH. Well there are 4 billion super poor people who definitely want to come. What if we increase the population of the US by 4 billion, would that suit you? 3 billion? 2 billion? Why not? So it’s only because of physical limits to logistics, but otherwise you would? No? Why not?”
Any explanation given on why that amount is NOT what they want (and ask for it if they don’t give it) can just lead to a lower absurd figure. I guarantee the conversation will NEVER drop to a non-absurd number. (“…so you concede there are limits for specific rational reasons?”) It will always be stopped before that point.
How much socialism is too much socialism? How much internationalism is too much internationalism?
The main thing isn’t to solve problems for poor and working class people pragmatically
It is to hopefully, finally, perfectly make everyone adhere to certain holy truths. They are NOT to be understood as real people in real places doing real things.
And the end result is always the working class being made miserable and terrified while a few people ride around in limos eating caviar occasionally purging and murdering each other out of paranoia and ambition.
The King of Persia in 500 BC would recognize the old, OLD primitive system they adopt. And when a socialist would unleash a deluge of cutting edge word salad theory on him, he would wait until they were spent, and then, with a twinkle in his eye, respond, “Ah yes. I use religion to legitimize my reign as well.”

TPTB seem intent on facilitating it to the maximum, pressing on despite significant opposition to the policy from the general public in most countries. They keep shoving in more and more of the world’s destitute. Here in the US we are certainly doing our share since “Biden” took over.
One has to ask–why? The usual explanations are either 1) cheap labor or 2) creating voters for the party that believes it can gain from such a strategy. But after due consideration, I believe that the real reason is the simple strategy of filling up Western society with people who have relatively low expectations.
TPTB are planning to take away the last few remaining punch bowls from the general population (in the name of their own greed, saving the planet, as necessitated by planetary resource exhaustion, or some combination thereof, or whatever). When we start moving into this phase (I believe quite soon now), those who are coming from wretchedness will still consider themselves much better off, and will be the natural allies of TPTB.

October 15, 2022 at 7:59 pm #118493anticlimacticParticipantIn politics does ‘left’ and ‘right’ mean anything?
in the US :
The left are pro police state, with censorship and personal surveillance.
The left are against free speech.
The left are pro-war.
The left do not object to the accumulation of wealth by the 0.1%.
The left are keen to do the bidding of oligarchs like Gates and Soros.
The left are keen to promote COVID vaccines to fill the coffers of Big Pharma, even though they cause death and injury to [mostly] Democrats. Are they DINOs?
I think the confusion is that politics is a wheel, so the extreme left are adjacent to the extreme right politically, with similar aims and objectives.
According to the Collins Dictionary, fascism “is a set of right-wing political beliefs that includes strong controls of society and the economy by the state”, but communism is a set of left-wing political beliefs that includes strong controls of society and the economy by the state.
I like the quote attributed to JK Galbraith : “Under capitalism, man exploits man. Under communism, it’s just the opposite.”
October 15, 2022 at 8:09 pm #118494AfewknowthetruthParticipantWatching videos of ‘world leaders’ or reading texts of the inane ranting of ‘world leaders’ reinforces how utterly corrupt and disconnected from reality, and utterly destructive so-called ‘leaders’ in ‘the West’ are.
Here in NZ, everything the Adern government says and does is deceitful, disconnected from reality, and highly destructive: that combination of deceit, disconnection from reality, and highly level of destruction extends from central government through regional government right down to district government (governance). I have previously noted that everything the local and regional council generates as a so-called planning is utter nonsense, completely disconnected from reality, and full of neuro-linguistic programming geared to manufacturing consent for looting and polluting.
I fully understand why this is the case. No NATOstan government is ‘of the people and for the people’: all of them are agents of international bankers and corporations; they all promote and promulgate short-term policies that benefit banks and corporations via top-down deceit and ruthlessness.
The big question at this point of time is this: will ‘limited nuclear war’ provide the short-term benefits that the international bankers and corporations seek?
We do know that their global Ponzi scheme has ‘run out of mathematics’, and their fake GDP scams are unravelling fast. We also know that the energy required for the NATOstan bankers and corporations to keep their various scams operational does not exist in the ‘western world’.
The fact that ‘preparations for nuclear war’ articles are popping up all over suggests someone has a plan to do something diabolical.
It wouldn’t be the first time, Japan 1945 and all that: a nation that was starting to starve to death and which could not get fighter planes into the sky to reduce near-constant aerial fire-bombing was selected as the target to see exactly what would happen when an atomic bomb was exploded over a city. Twice, there being two kinds of bomb to test.
Of course, there was a degree of panic in August 1945, not because Japan was a still threat, but because the Soviet Union had defeated Nazi Germany and was about to commence an attack on the Japanese and take territory.
So the pre-NATOstan nations had to demonstrate to the USSR what would happen to Soviet cities if the USSR didn’t play ball the right way.
It was a bit like the bombing of Dresden in January 1945,, in which an unknown number of civilians (arguably 300,000 to 500,000) were roasted and a magnificent cultural centre smashed to smithereens, to demonstrate to the Soviets what the RAF was capable of.
Of course, it didn’t stop there. After the initial war crime had been committed, the RAF went back with ground-attack planes and strafed anyone attempting to leave the city. And attacked the fire-fighters and rescue workers who were attempting to salvage life and property from the carnage. It took about 3 days to kill 300,000 to 500,000 civilians. Ditto Hamburg, Berlin etc.
It all makes what has been happening in Ukraine so far look rather tame and very half-hearted.
Of course, both Britian and America were industrial nations of considerable standing when they committed the war crimes of the Second World War.
Not so much now. Indeed, both nations have been morphed into nations of overfed, and therefore overweigh, clowns and thieves, with imbeciles as ‘leaders’.
On the other hand, the most advanced technological nation on the Earth has a culture of quiet determination not to be annihilated by clowns and thieves. And, as Andrei Martyanov relentlessly points out, Russia has highly trained and highly skilled technicians who have at their disposal the best weapons in the world.
Russia’s biggest problem seems to be that there are only about 135 million Russians to defend the largest country on the planet from constant attack by agents of the money-lenders.
On the other hand, they do have the best aeronautics and space capabilities.
I was going to post a reminder but:

‘In politics does ‘left’ and ‘right’ mean anything?’
No.
Maybe a hundred years ago there was a difference. But in recent decades (certainly since the 1980s) left and right are the same thing. Indeed, all the mainstream political parties in NATOstan nations are owned by the moneylenders, and all promote the unsustainable, counterproductive, and destructive policies of the money-lenders.
October 15, 2022 at 8:34 pm #118496willemParticipantAFKTT: “The fact that ‘preparations for nuclear war’ articles are popping up all over suggests someone has a plan to do something diabolical.”
I tend to believe that if actual nuclear war was (intentionally) in the cards, the ground would probably not be laid with advance advertising–it would just get dropped on our heads unannounced. More likely this is some kind of scare campaign, similar to the “mass die-offs” we were promised in the wake of Covid’s march across the planet. Both intended to get the public to do something or accept something, but in themselves not a reflection of actual happening.

I remember writing about this years ago, and nothing that has happened since then has changed my answer: I believe that the cheap labor provided by western immigration policies is an obvious, but secondary motive that is only enjoyed by certain business interests. It may even be a tertiary motive, as the third-world hordes added to western voting rolls may allow globalists to better control election outcomes, and further their goals for a CBDC UBI surveillance and control strategy.
I still think the primary goal is to weaken nationalism in preparation for their one-world global government. Uncontrolled immigration induces chaos and stress, dilutes the root culture, and creates division. Unity among the ruled masses is the thing that the elites fear the most.
October 15, 2022 at 8:49 pm #118498AfewknowthetruthParticipantSorry, Europeans cannot ‘go out into the jungle’ again. They did it between 1492 and 1992. And they cut down most of the jungle to make pianos, bookcases, piles for piers, ships, warehouses, crates for tea etc. and to make way for monoculture plantations. They also stole a large portion of the gold, silver, diamonds, oil etc. that lay beneath the jungle to build their places and manicured gardens.
Many things can only be done once. Emptying the oil and gas reserves that were under the North Sea to fuel an orgy of overconsumption in the 1980s to early 2000s is a good example.
Emptying the Ogalala Aquifer to grow crops in semi-deserts is another.

‘I tend to believe that if actual nuclear war was (intentionally) in the cards, the ground would probably not be laid with advance advertising–it would just get dropped on our heads unannounced. More likely this is some kind of scare campaign, similar to the “mass die-offs” we were promised in the wake of Covid’s march across the planet. Both intended to get the public to do something or accept something, but in themselves not a reflection of actual happening.’
It is said that TTATT always flag their intentions.
Thus, the fake covid emergency and fake covid jabs were flagged by telling people there would be massive die-off due to covid, whereas the actual massive die-off is due to the jabs.
Who can say? We are not privy to the machinations and secret deals of the maniacs who pretend to be in change.
There is the phenomenon of hyper-normalisation, whereby that which is diabolical becomes made ‘normal’ by constant repetition of propaganda, designed to make the absurd become normal in the eyes of the masses. That is one of the main reasons we are in this monstrous collective predicament. The masses believe the lies.
I recall how immediately after 9/11 the mainstream media played shots of buildings collapsing almost every hour, on the hour for a week, and shortly after the demolition job was completed, the shots were accompanied by George Bush spouting nonsense about a “War on Terror”, the US being the biggest terrorist nation on the planet. 🙁
All I know for sure is that when the system is fundamentally mathematically flawed (as it most certainly is) and is totally dependent on constant promotion of utterly absurd propaganda to maintain itself, the system has a very short life expectancy.

October 15, 2022 at 10:30 pm #118503BishkoParticipantAs scary it is beginning to look out there, and I have been preparing for years, I have some doubts as to the likelihood of a full blown nuclear war.
The people behind the scenes who are really in control of everything don’t want their world to be radioactive. They are all people of leisure and comfort and I guarantee that they think of this world as “theirs”. I’m sure they all have their own high tech bunkers but I doubt that they want to spend months or years underground just for the sake of a great reset. They still want some kind of economy around for someone to raise their hanger steaks and collect their caviar. If the world is destroyed their money would be worthless and their future would be more uncomfortable than they would tolerate, so I can imagine that they will pull all the levers and press all the buttons to keep it from going full on nuclear.
I can, however, see how this could easily be used as a new hobgoblin to get the masses to demand safety regardless of their lost liberties. It has already been used to funnel hundreds of billions into unknown hands.

other than utilizing the word “socialism” in the name of the Nazi Party, it didn’t adhere to *any* of the then-current or historical trends and philosophies of socialism.
Really, so they called themselves socialists just to throw us off the scent? Their big/huge government, inherent in all socialist ambitions, did not adhere to *any* of the … trends and philosophies of socialism? Their micro-management of people, such as the Jews, was not big government, was not where historically all socialist governments, whether communist or fascist, end up? In addition, they killed millions of Jews – if you believe that story – which is in keeping with all communist governments who love to kill their bad people in huge numbers, whether they be intellectuals or political rivals. Seems to me they had more in common with socialism than with any other political bent, their name was accurate.

Very interesting statement as it accurately states that, where possible, nature has been cleared away in Europe and replaced with man-managed nature where plants are granted good or bad status depending on … not sure how gardeners decide what is an evil weed and what is a garden plant. Maybe this is what Borrell is trying to get at, that places like New Zealand – south island is much more beautiful than all but very few locations in Europe – is not a garden because it has not all been cleared (yes, they cleared lots of it) and is not under his control: Borrell the gardener. He cannot be talking about natural beauty because Europe does not have a lot of natural beauty: the green fields of England or Germany look nice (in a monoculture sort of way) and are all garden, managed nature, not wild, real nature where plants compete for space etc. Reading his words I realised that he is partially right, Europe is a garden. Where he is wrong is in describing the rest of the world – where the beautiful parts of the world still exist – as a jungle: a lot of the world is not jungle, it too has been cleared and is managed by its own Borrells. What I take away from this is that we should stop gardening Europe and let nature take it over again. Maybe the energy crisis will achieve that.

October 16, 2022 at 1:10 am #118511PolemosParticipantIf you read Hannah Arendt’s analysis in The Human Condition, one of the points she makes concerns the suppression of the political realm via the social realm: the advent of mass communication and an industrial technology to support very large numbers of humans —hundreds of millions in a compressed region— changes individual agency into absolute numerical supremacy. The collective social organism wrests culture and focus away from individual, self-driven agency, and what was once a clear and valuable distinction between the public role and the private life blurs into what we now know as total, pervasive surveillance. In this sense, “socialism” is not so much a specific set of dogmas related to the control and ownership of communal properties or economic capital, but a recognition of the supremacy of the social realm over the political life.
There is no politician today in any “elected” office who does not refer to their mandate on behalf of the people. This is her point. “The people” have one. The deme acts as the smallest unit of political life, and thus the social realm dominates over the possibilities one person’s political act might have been. All the totalitarians today talk about “democracy” not because they are being deceptive or mendacious with their language. They are expressing the contemporary version of the Hobbesian point: the totalitarian political machine is driven by the collective consciousness of the people, with the “face” or the “personation” of the King spread among the bureaucrats who instantiate the reality of that machine in action. Corporations, being a collective activity orchestrating its smaller fractal units through social functions and mechanisms, are the smallest unit of contemporary political activity.
At one point, I was an unstructor (a handy typo, I’ll run with it) teaching introduction to philosophy classes. The classes were unlike other classes around, because I’m not a conventional sort of person and philosophy is just not a conventional sort of thing. What I showed for my students was something I do not often see shown in Orwell’s 1984, but it is something that is plainly there. There is no such thing as a singular Totalitarian mindset. By that, I mean, there is nobody “at the top.” The pyramid is intentionally left unfinished because there is no such thing as Big Brother. If you’re unfamiliar with the book —and especially the book-within-the-book, that is the book (or, if you will, say it in Greek)— you might at least remember the slogans War is Peace, Freedom is Slavery, Ignorance is Strength. If you are a neurotypical person, you’re supposed to laugh at the contradictions and think it’s ludicrous for anyone not to notice the paradoxes. The Party, on the other hand, structures its own society —three tiers, remember: proles, Outer and Inner— with each “layer” of this pyramidal structure being itself the living embodiment of one of these slogans. The proles are ignorant; that ignorance is what gives them the strength to endure the depravity, the bombings, the filth, the exploitation, the meaninglessness of their lives. The Outer Party wrestles in its daily life with their freedom; advancing inward one must do away with any genuine freedom, because the appearance of freedom by following one’s desire is an enslavement to the satisfaction of that desire and not to the boundless freedom inherent to being the Party’s precious Slave. (Go all the way back to Augustine, to Marcus Aurelius, to Buddha, to Arjuna, to the Heart of what it means to do away with desire and find the hidden secret beyond love and hate, and you will see). The Inner Party, wreckless psychopaths fully in control and fully in obedience, are completely at peace with one another because they are perpetually locked in an endless war with one another, because each of them understands the larger scope of the greater war of their multipolar world requires each of them to perfect their warring against the other members of the Inner Party so that the ultimate peace —the chaotic dance of stillness in a placid pond, the Brownian motion of endless movement and the flatness of its solitude— obtains. But what most people forget, and forget that they forget if they actually bother to read it, is how Winston, led by O’Brien (the Son of the Lord, etymologically), comes to the Fourth Slogan all on his own, to the slogan that obtains at the highest level where Big Brother resides —the open top of the pyramid of social structure:God is Power.
The thing is, most people forget this part of the narrative, if they read it, because for such people, this is not a paradox. It’s not a thing they have learned to deny. It is an implicit dream still resonating in all that they do. It is there, in Winston, and it is why, despite all that he thinks he is doing to resist the process of falling in love with
GodBig Brother, it is inevitable that every Winston will. People want to hold onto the belief that enough power, whether it is the power to vote, the power to change things, the power to force others, the power to make the world great again, the power to do anything, is enough to accomplish what needs accomplishing. It is the root for all of the totalitarians. It is the root for all the fascisms. It is the root for all the collectives. It is the root for all of the religions. It is the root for all the magical spells people invoke thinking they are going to alter the course and flow of karma, just enough, for once enough, O please!, just this once, mygodohgodplease, in this life do not let me die. It is the root for the people who want the jabs to stop. It is the root for the people who want the jabs to continue. It is the root for the people who want the land to grow good food. It is the root for the people who want to steal the good food off the shelf. It is the root for the father holding his dying little girl in his arms. It is the root for the doctor who wanted to help her live. It is the root for the oil tycoon amassing his fortune. It is the root for the guy gassing up his truck to head into work. All of the root for the fruits of the tree that grows wide and branches off into the limitless unending sky, this paradox: —God is Power.Wipe it away, what you read. Unlearn what you have seen. It’s unimportant. Don’t think about it. I’m a crank, an imbecile, a monkey with a thousand keyboards and a computer for a brain. What do I know?
All I did was observe a thing, and had a clue, that Orwell knew more about what’s going on in the Book, about how it changes the way people think about what’s important about their lives, because it encourages them to believe there is more to life than death, and more to death than life, but it never actually teaches anyone to understand how to unwork the conviction of the paradox and helps them stop seeing God as all-powerful or seeing power as making one godlike. Arendt, in her own way, makes this case: Sputnik and metal computational machines that patted people on the head (and now thumbs up with likes their dopaminergic pathways) made people think they had become as god, able to place their own Walkers in the Sky. And now you have a whole night full of them, Links to the Stars, casting down bolts upon dolts and leaving holes where people once stood,
The one who would have you holds out a hand with all the power in the world he has to offer you, and you will take it if you think it can give you just a moment to live on, forever. But if you are wise, you know these are lies, because we all signed up to die. If you have no fear, the rats can eat you, and you’ll know it was all worth it. Love is worth it. She is worth it. Anyone else, is worth it. Pay your own price. Don’t accept any other stand in. Nail yourself on your own cross, build it if you have to. The test is clear. Don’t take any power. Don’t take any other path. Have no other gods, no powers. Let yourself go like water down the hill, like leaves in the wind, like clouds irradiated by dead stars at night, but be wise.
I don’t know what I’m saying, but I’ll leave it at that. I have a lot to learn.
October 16, 2022 at 1:25 am #118512AfewknowthetruthParticipantNuclear weapons with much lower TNT equivalence than the Hiroshima bomb and with a very much higher TNT equivalence are available.
The bombs dropped over Hiroshima and Nagasaki were very ‘dirty’ for their size. Despite the local carnage, Japan remained habitable.
One needs to understand the difference between fission and fusion.
The biggest bomb ever detonated did not bring life-as-we-know-it to a standstill. Indeed, few people even noticed it had been detonated because [as far as I know] it was detonated off the coast of northern Russia.
Atomic bombs compared to Hydrogen bombs (thermonuclear weapons)
Uses for lithium other than in batteries:

One has to ask–why? The usual explanations are either 1) cheap labor or 2) creating voters for the party that believes it can gain from such a strategy. But after due consideration, I believe that the real reason is the simple strategy of filling up Western society with people who have relatively low expectations.
The aim is to eradicate or dilute your identity. In the past, being British mean’t you were a white guy with generations of white ancestors. You were raised in the white environment with a mono culture to inform your behaviour. Such nurturing breeds people closely bonded together and united in common beliefs, practices, morals etc. Destroying that mono-culture by introducing foreign cultures destroys the common culture of being British, now you would have to ask “A British Christian, Muslim, Hindu?” etc. By destroying the common culture you destroy the country from within, the one common factor for all the citizens being the government. Now the government is number one, not the church, not mosques, not football, not cricket, now the government and its multi-cultural makeup is the British government, socialist heaven.
The word British now means nothing, you cannot predict what the “English man” will look like, he could be any colour, have any religion, with ancestors from anywhere on the globe, your culture of “English” is destroyed. That was the aim and it was successful, another victory to the socialists who want everybody to be equal yet diverse and in the process simply destroy everything in their path. Socialism has already gone down in history as the most destructive force of human kind, responsible for more deaths, more misery, more poverty than anything else humans have managed to invent, including the gun. Yet here we are with socialists still trying to destroy more of our world, in order to achieve their goal which seems to be the assassination of all other egos apart from their own.
You may think I am esconced in this movement, living in China with a Chinese wife. China does not readily accept non Chinese residents and it is not possible to become a citizen in either mainland China or Taiwan for non-Chinese. Of course, a lot of China was occupied by the British, Germans, Dutch etc. so there are remnants of foreign influence. But foreigners are allowed into China in relatively small numbers, nowhere near enough to impact the core culture of China and certainly not enough for anybody to not know what a China man looks like. In Asia, you will always be an outsider, you will never be considered one of them, they defend their culture: some here have lived in Japan and they will confirm that there is no way you can become one of them and this actually has considerable advantages. For example, they don’t care what you think about them or their politics, you are an outsider, even the government does not care what you think as long as you don’t cause trouble: compare this to the UK where immigrants run the government.

@aspnaz: I agree, esp. about China and Taiwan. I have been married to a Taiwanese woman for over 40 years now, and we have spent months at a time in Taiwan off and on over the years. I am always treated quite well and have no difficulty getting around and doing things. But despite seeing the occasional Westerner, there is always a feeling of being an outsider. -
