Tel Aviv once again came into confrontation with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon, known as UNIFIL, on Friday, striking the organization’s headquarters and injuring two peacekeepers during a morning attack. Israeli forces struck the same installation the day before, also injuring two.

The UN peacekeeping mission in Lebanon, UNIFIL, has accused Israeli Defense Forces of destroying their main gate and causing mild injuries to at least 15 soldiers after Israeli troops “forcibly entered” their position.
The allegation contained in a UNIFIL statement came after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called for the removal of the UN peacekeeping force in southern Lebanon.
The statement said the incident, which occurred early on Sunday morning at a UN position in Ramiya, involved two Israeli tanks.
“We remind the IDF and all actors of their obligations to ensure the safety and security of UN personnel and property and to respect the inviolability of UN premises at all times,” it added…

At Ashgabat, Pezeshkian pointedly suggested to Putin that the signing of their proposed strategic treaty should be speeded up. Putin is known to have approved the draft agreement as far back as September 18. What is holding back the signing ceremony begs an explanation. Pezeshkian proposed that the ceremony could take place in Kazan. But the Russian side is dragging its feet.
The ambivalence is reminiscent of the inordinate delay some years ago in Russia’s transfer of S-300 mobile surface-to-air missile system to Iran even after Tehran had made payment for the system. In sheer exasperation, Iran filed a $4 billion lawsuit against Russia’s defence export agency and embarked on the manufacture of its own long-range, mobile air defence system, the Bavar-373.
Simply put, Russia came under US-Israeli pressure. Geopolitical considerations continue to prevail in Russia’s arms transfers with Iran. Pezeshkian, after his return to Tehran disclosed to the media that he had told Putin that Russia should “act more effectively in relation to the crimes committed by the Zionist regime in Gaza and Lebanon.”
Apparently, the tense exchange at Ashgabat provoked a frank remark later by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov to Tass, the state news agency. Ryabkov said: “We are closely and anxiously following the events [in the Israel-Iran standoff], the risk of a large-scale conflict is indeed high. The tendency to escalate into a full-scale conflict is a real danger. We call on all parties to exercise restraint. We are in intensive dialogue with the countries of the region. And once again — a major war can be avoided, but everyone must show restraint.” [Emphasis added.]

..What was special about this? Well, we know something. Everyone knows that the Israeli defense did not detect the incoming drones. They didn’t detect it. And that’s quite stunning. They have one of the best, if not the best, air defense systems in the world…
..In the normal situation, the alarm should have gone off, and the soldiers who were being targeted should have dived. They should have gone to protected shelter, which normally they had the time to do, and which is what they practice in Israel today. It didn’t happen, because nobody saw the incoming drones … They said that Israel was blindsided because it never expected Hezbollah, which is just to the north of them, to send in attack weapons via the sea and not over land directly from the north.
So the Israeli radars, as one expert has proposed, weren’t pointed in the right direction. Well, I have a doubt that’s true. I imagine Israelis have 360-degree surveillance, radar surveillance. The point is the following … Anyway, Nikonov had good panelists, and one of them said the following. This was not detected by Israel because it is not detectable on radar. It has almost no metal parts. It’s made entirely of composites. The same sort of approach that the United States used in creating its stealth bombers, composites. The lead story on the BBC World News broadcast this morning was the military exercises China is now carrying out in the Taiwan Strait and its encirclement of the island by its ‘coast guard’ vessels in what is clearly meant to demonstrate its ability to impose a blockade at any time of its choosing and so to bring Taiwan to heel without an invasion and with little or no loss of life.
As the BBC news presenter explained, the Chinese muscle flexing was a response to an aggressive speech last Thursday by Taiwan’s recently installed president William Lai Ching-tai, who said that “The People’s Republic of China has no right to represent Taiwan.” Put in plain English, Lai was rejecting the One China policy that Beijing agreed with Richard Nixon back in 1972. That policy had been the backbone of U.S.-Chinese relations ever since….until the Trump and then the Biden administration decided that any and all measures should be applied to contain the growth of the People’s Republic and its implicit challenge to U.S. global hegemony. Encouraging Taiwanese independence is one of the several elements of U.S.-led containment.
Indeed, the BBC’s explanation of the timing of the Chinese naval exercises may ring true, but is it sufficient cause? I would suggest that the offensive speech may have been little more than a pretext for a message that Beijing is sending over the heads of the Taiwanese to the political establishment in the USA. This is the 5th part of a series dedicated to exploring a dark area of human behavior: mass exterminations. Here, I examine perhaps the darkest part of it: when the victims can be convinced to submit to be killed or even to kill themselves by lies and propaganda.
During the last two years of WW2, the German and the Allied governments found themselves in an unholy alliance. Both wanted the Germans to fight like cornered rats up to the very last moment but for different reasons. The Germans were trying to postpone their defeat; the Allies wanted the destruction of Germany’s military and industrial base... A side effect of this weird bipartisan effort was the rise of perhaps the first psyop in history that tried to convince an enemy population to commit mass suicide. In 1945, the British printed and distributed in Germany a propaganda postcard written in German and supposedly issued by the Nazi government. It provided detailed instructions on how to hang oneself (postcard “H. 1321”) (2). Even more weirdly, the Germans collaborated with the Allies in pushing German civilians to commit suicide. Possibly, they were possessed by a mystic intoxication about glorious death but, more likely, the German government reasoned that mass suicide was an easy way to get rid of unproductive people, mostly women and the elderly. The result was the wide distribution of cyanide capsules to the population. One of those cyanide capsules was used by Regina Lisso, a 21-year-old girl who had no reason to die but who was caught in the madness of the propaganda storm (5). I am pleased to announce that we have recently published a comment paper in the Tasman Medical Journal in response to an editorial review by the journal’s Editor-In-Chief concerning the use of hydroxychloroquine in the treatment of COVID-19. His handling of our manuscript was very professional and meticulous.
The study concisely reviews previously published work, so there are no new major results presented. However, the importance of this study is that it provides a very concise statement of what should have been widely known and understood, by now, about pandemic response and specifically about the Raoult and Zelenko hydroxychloroquine-based multidrug protocols.
Some of the key points that we make are as follows:
1. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) require large sample sizes to ensure sufficient randomization. RCTs with insufficient randomization cannot claim superiority over retrospective observational controlled studies.
2. There was sufficient evidence to justify the continuation of hydroxychloroquine-based multidrug treatments on an emergency basis by the end of April 2020, contrary to the claims of French regulators, currently preoccupied with persecuting Dr. Didier Raoult.
3. By December 2020, the evidence was sufficiently strong that there was no longer equipoise to ethically justify any randomized controlled trials against placebo.
