We played a gig at a small bar last Sunday, went down great.
Late afternoon Tuesday I started feeling a little “sniffly”. By yesterday afternoon I was feeling as if I had a cold. Mrs Ayns came in from work and was feeling the same. About 8’o’clock I was feeling a bit worse so took a Lem Sip. Around 9 I got a text from our bass player saying he was feeling quite ill and suspected coronavirus. Ten minutes later our other guitarist said the same. By this morning our singer and drummer both confirmed they are also feeling unwell. So that’s 7 from 7 (5 in the band and 2 wives) who went to the gig are all unwell. All have been double vaccinated. I’m actually feeling much better today, but so far the 2 that have been tested are positive for coronavirus and the other guitarist expects to be positive when he gets tested later today. Others have tested negative *so far*. So unless I start to feel worse I’m going to assume I’ve got it and self isolate for 10 days.

Note: This is in the Pub, the only non-public forum on The Gear Page (I’m also a musician since I was 12), anyone can create a free account if they want to read the whole train wreck…
Here’s a few of the Thank god you’re vaxxed, it probably saved you moronic comments:
sorry to hear that. sadly i think everyone is going to get it at some point. at least if your vaxxed the chances of hospitalization are very slim.
we just booked our first gigs back in nov. i’m excited but also nervous. i follow a lot of bands on fb and lots are having to cancel shows at this point.
sorry to hear this! We have our first gig in 2 years scheduled for mid October. We’re all vaccinated but my 2 kids aren’t because they are too young. I worry about this. The venue is vaccine card or recentCovid negative test required which hopefully will help a lot. Did your venue have any requirements like this?
By all accounts, the vaxxes work, as in the OP’s sitch, getting a little sick, but not being hospitalized. but there are still folks out there who can get very, very sick from something you bring home from the pub.
Im sure youll be fine. Sounds like the vaccine did its job.
Quite honestly I never spend time in the Pub, not my crowd, but it came up in the feed…
I’m feeling more hopeless today than usual, the whole implosion of western “civilization” is making me a little nauseous.
Be well…

There, doesn’t everyone feel better now? Side effects will range from “extremely rare” to “only a few instances”, just like what happened after the second dose. Ask any of the current crop of drug pushers, they’ll set you straight if you’re at all worried about death and disabling conditions.
At this point, with all the data available, anyone that’s still lining up for these shots is begging for whatever they get. I’m done worrying about them.
It also appears that this is, indeed, Bill Gates’ latest subscription service. I’ve never purchased one of them and don’t intend to start now.

They’re doing this to 360 youth between the ages of 12 to 16. Wtf is wrong with these parents? Who in their right mind would allow their child to get these jabs?? I’m asking seriously. I would never allow one of my kids to participate in something like this.
I’m with Veracious. Feeling hopeless and nauseous today.
September 17, 2021 at 11:36 am #87364uranianParticipantHello, TAE, thank you for this little beacon of sanity among the madness. Here’s a fun first post:
COVID-19 Vaccine Passport Mandatory In Italy For All Private Sector Workers
The Italian government on Thursday approved among the strictest COVID-19 rules in the world by mandating that all private and public sector employees get the vaccine and show proof of vaccination, a negative test, or a recent recovery from infection, officials said.
The rules will go into effect on Oct. 15, which would penalize any worker with a suspension from their job with no pay. However, the mandate stipulates that they cannot get terminated from their job, according to provisions of the measure.
The country’s Council of Ministers, during a Thursday evening meeting, voted to approve the rules, Minister of Health Roberto Speranza said after the government approved the mandate, reported Il Gazettino.
“We will also make the network of active pharmacies more widespread” that are “capable of administering swabs [and] rapid antigen tests in our country,” Speranza said, adding that the government decree will likely boost vaccination rates in Italy.
Individuals who go to work and cannot present a so-called “green pass,” a type of vaccine passport, will face a fine of between 600 and 1,500 euros ($705 to $1,175), according to the provisions.

I would say that exchange between Don Lemon and Chris Cuomo is unbelievable, but sadly, these days, it’s not. Still, the sheer lack of anything approaching nuance or any sort of intellectual curiosity or really any sign of brain waves not flattened by propaganda is frightening enough in your average person. But these are our “information providers.”
Somebody should do a fake video, same exact dialog exchange, but have it being spoken between, say, Edward R. Murrow and Walter Conkrite. It would even look preposterous if it were between Captain Kangaroo and Soupy Sales, or Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, all of whom have more dignity and smarts than this Lemon-Cuomo horror show duo. Lord help us. Filed under Exhibit A for proof of the decline of civilization.

Incompetent media reporting and dangerously ignorant “expert” pontifications have been an infuriatingly persistent aspect of COVID messaging, with their incoherent ravings becoming increasingly desperate as time wears on.
On the flip side to inaccurate praise, the incomprehensible inability of experts to get anything right is perhaps best exemplified by Sweden.

Holy mother of God! There is some horrible shit in there. You could write numerous posts just on this one interview alone. How could this hearing not have gotten press around the planet? And the US has just approved the Pfizer/BioNtech vax, which is the main vaccine being discussed at this hearing.
I know the interview is lengthy, but people would do well to read the damn thing. Nobody would take the Mrna vaccines if they knew the crap that went into them, the lack of testing protocol, the shortcuts taken, the contaminants in them, the arbitrary dosing, and the inherent dangers contained within them.
The committee points out they will be sending the information presented in the hearing to the US – since the interview was done in January, I assume the US had the written report well before this summer.
This is simply appalling.

September 17, 2021 at 4:38 pm #87400phoenixvoiceParticipantAbout four years ago my ex put together a computer for each of our then pre-teen children. We were in the middle of a family court case and he was courting their favor after having previously paid them little attention while he was binge drinking. For Christmas he gifted them each with the computer tower, and did not provide them with keyboards, mice, monitors, nor connecting cables. Fortunately, I run a tiny computer repair company and had some extra computer peripherals hanging around that I could use to set up the computers.
As preteens, the kids didn’t use the computers much, but as time went by one son began getting serious about Minecraft. The gifted computers were slow, so when I received a surplus computer from a client that was faster, I replaced that son’s computer, and he took the gifted computer to his dad’s house to use there. During 2020 the other two children were using their gifted computers for online school. For each of them, I was helping them learn to use the computer for school, but found myself losing so much time just waiting for the computers that my patience wore down to nothing, and I replaced them with speedy little refurbished computers that I had sitting around.
A few weeks ago the Minecrafting son asked about getting more memory for his computer – Minecraft would run even better with 32 GB! My domestic partner explained to him that 16 GB should be quite enough for the graphics of Minecraft. I agreed, however, this teen asks for very, very little and I decided to go ahead and get him the memory upgrade. He got it a couple of days ago and is happy as a clam. (He installed it himself – I’m so proud!)
The same day he explained that a few days prior while at his dad’s he had become frustrated while using Minecraft on the computer gifted him by his father nearly 4 years ago. It was so slow, and he had to spend so much time simply waiting for the graphics to load. He approached his father, and explained the situation, asking if the computer could be upgraded. My son relayed to me what ensued – his father began to explain to our son how much the request distressed my ex, because it made him feel like our son did not appreciate the gift of the computer all those years ago.
This is gas-lighting.
The mainstream media and the politicos are currently engaged in the same behavior.
Vaccine refuser: “I will not take the vaccine.”
Political message crafter: “Oh, I see that you have been consuming mis-information on the internet. That is very bad of you. Here, let me explain to you that we have been very patient, but now our patience is wearing thin. Soon, you will not be able to engage in civil society or in normal economic activities if you do not comply.”
Messaging cannot compensate for gas-lighting.
September 17, 2021 at 5:05 pm #87402phoenixvoiceParticipantI had a discussion with two of my teens yesterday about the definitions and real world examples of: totalitarianism, tyranny, dictatorship, fascism, and communism as practiced by the former USSR and the CCP, and authoritarianism. My daughter had a great example of authoritarianism to share.
At her middle school the students are required to display their student photo ID at all times around their necks. The photographer several weeks back didn’t like my daughter’s smile, and directed her to smile more in order to get the photo taken. She initiated a forced smile with glaring eyes, and that is the photo on her school ID. She loathes it to the extreme — not unsurprising for a self-conscious, depressed 13 year old — and covered the image on her school ID with Abe Lincoln on a $5 bill.
Yesterday school staff decided to do a spot check of student IDs of the kids entering the lunch room, and asked all who had defaced or covered their own photos to step aside and then to individually speak with the assistant principal. The assistant principal explained to my daughter individually that she must not cover the photo on her student ID. My daughter insisted that she could not uncover it, that she would prefer to leave it home and face the consequences. The assistant principal pushed the issue and my daughter (13, self-conscious, depressed, etc.,) began to have a panic attack and started bawling uncontrollably. At this point, the assistant principal decided to change tactics and attempted to compromise with my daughter – suggesting that she turn the ID to hide the picture or button up her overshirt to cover it – and the assistant principal reached over (violating my daughter’s personal space) and buttoned up her overshirt. My daughter’s emotional cascade did not diminish. Finally, the assistant principal suggested that my daughter simply needed to uncover the image in order to get lunch, and let my daughter alone.
My daughter explained to myself and her brother that afternoon that she doesn’t eat school lunch (she is a very picky eater), but is still made to show her student ID in order to enter the lunchroom – and she is not given the option to skip the lunch room, even if she is not eating.
Her brother is in high school and mentioned that he keeps his high school ID in his wallet in his pocket – and no one asks to see it when he as at school, not even when he gets lunch. In response I sighed and suggested to my daughter that since I can’t change her school, that it would be a good idea not to fail any classes so that she can go onto high school next year. And I confirmed that, yes, her experience was a valid example of authoritarianism.
