lol I have to say I genuinely kinda like you now, to my surprise. But naturally I am going to pick on the one thing I take exception to, ’cause internets

Gen X (punk) culture is at its apex, peering unwittingly downhill thinking the world is their personal rollercoaster, forgetting that the bottom of the hill is a geriatric crash-landing; we Boomers snickered schadenfreudistically from our rocking chairs.

You have completely misunderstood GenX. (and now a guy who loves Axis Bold as Love, Chicago Transit Authority, and Relayer has to cite punk culture..)

…but their WORTH comes from their traditional place in society.

    Lawyers, Priests, Doctors, Journalists

They have a special place in society because of their level and type of education, yes. Also their jobs, yes. But not really. IF that were the case, any number of other ethics-less jobs would be just as respected. But they have not been. A hedge fund guy earning 10x a doctor has been, in times past, been seen as LESS of a man than a doctor. Less valued, less respected by far.

The privacy with client, confessor, patient, or source is not mere humdrum commonplace. They are the pillars of civilization.

A doctor who acts as an obedient bureaucratic functionary is not a doctor. They are a bureaucrat. A Mandarin who has done the proper schooling to get a secure position, but has no code, no ethics. NOT a doctor. Someone who looks at a computer screen, reads from it, and sends you out for tests or specialists depending on what the screen tells them.

The value of doctors is AS doctors. Just as the value of journalists is AS journalists.

As they fail to exercise their special powers, they lose them, until they become obedient, valueless functionaries.

The only doctors and nurses we know for SURE are real doctors and nurses are the ones who got fired.

Those are the only ones I trust.

Certainly everything was done to make informed consent impossible.

And most of the doctors, everywhere on the planet turned out to be obedient bureaucrats, not doctors at all, since informed consent was such a basic concept for them to understand. Part of their schooling and oath.

My GP said he could not help me with a medical exemption and HAD to recommend the vaccine because of “strict guidelines.”

After the visit, I pulled up the FDA website and read their guidelines for discussing, recommending and administering the injection that does not vaccinate in full several times. First and foremost, it said he had to inform me of the side effects and he had to inform me that it was not mandatory. He did neither of these things. (he told me the opposite, really) He did NOT follow the guidelines.

He meant the internal corporate guidelines of his employer.

How long did it take me to check the FDA guidelines vs his behavior, twice? 10 minutes? 15? Certainly he had a responsibility as a doctor to check at least the things I checked ….but then I, owning my own life, clearly had a responsibility to check for myself.

But this is not just your job, mr doctor. This is your career. This is your life and identity. You will always be either the person who shut off their brain and followed guidelines, hurting hundreds, thousands? Killing how many? Or the person who wouldn’t do that. This is YOUR life and who you will or will not BE.

Many years ago, if I saw someone behind me looking at their phone in traffic, I’d pull aside and get back into traffic to get someone NOT on a phone behind me.

Several years ago, I had a commute home from work in which I TRIED to get away from people driving looking at their phones and could not. I pulled out and back into traffic 5 or 6 times. No matter how many times I tried, I couldn’t get away from them. The non phone-looker was now the outlier, not the phone-looker.

I’ve thought about the people looking at their phones in traffic and the people taking the shot.

The late Roman Empire had a Manpower Shortage. Always scrounging for troops. Various writers from the time period fretting, gosh darn it, the manpower shortage, the manpower shortage.

I’m not sure I buy depopulation, because there was a real issue with people cutting off their own thumbs to evade military service. And certainly the giant crowds in the major Roman cities, the ones the rulers feared would riot, remained.

In some sense, people don’t believe they own their own lives. So why focus on driving? Why check info about an injection? And they don’t own their jobs, their towns, their anything.

They couldn’t get people to fight for Rome because it wasn’t THEIRS. And to be fully accurate, Rome wasn’t the rulers’ property either. Rome could be understood in a more primitive way, as a stretch of Serengetti, the rulers as a hominid wandering it, extracting resources from it.

And so we’ve had a mysterious “manpower shortage”. And businesses open or don’t open depending on who can bring themselves to go in today. I keep hearing about it locally where I am.

Decades ago, I went to a local fireworks show. Something went wrong. Fireworks started falling into the crowd that had spread out on blankets with picnic items. After several had already landed in the crowd and gone off, resulting in some alarm, (yells, screams etc) one rather large one fell perfectly centered into the middle of a family’s blanket.

one of the more disturbing memories of my life, in a way

A husband, wife, and 2 toddlers turned to the firework, almost sleepily, as if in a dream. And, oddly, as if synchronized, as if controlled by the same marionette by strings, all leaned forward and OVER the firework cannister.

Over and over in my imagination, for decades now, I have imagined myself as the father, grabbing the nearest toddler and rolling away to gain distance from the explosive and put my body between it and the child.

But in my memory, they always replay in a trance, family of four, leaning towards the explosive.

Before they could get their faces directly over it, it went off, VERY loudly. The toddlers started crying. Maybe they all had hearing loss. I think it sprayed its bits at the ground, otherwise it would have sprayed upward and blinded all 4 probably melted their faces off. It was a bit larger than an extra-large folgers can. A non-negligible amount of explosive. Maybe some of it got burned up before it landed.

I feel the same kind of sick to my stomach sensation thinking of them and thinking of everyone who went along. There should have been some sense of preservation, ownership, and responsibility, to grab a child and roll. To yell “get back!” or something, anything. Both then and now it has a nightmarish surreal quality to it.

lol wtf is it with objecting to Germ’s tone to this extent? HE isn’t injecting anyone, pressuring anyone, ostracizing anyone, blocking anyone from social or economic activity. He’s just understandably angered and embittered.

And it seems to me, the thing he returns to again and again, is that for people who preferred to blank out and say this can’t be happening, the very people who made all of this possible, the chickens are increasingly coming home to roost. Their comfort-seeking fugue state will be rendered temporary by reality. It was an IMMORAL mental state to put themselves in.

Yeah it isn’t classy, but hell man, it’s all still happening RIGHT NOW

Like how is his real and justified anger and embitterment over real actual bad things and bad PEOPLE even a problem, really?

Let me ask you this Germ – what about people who realized their mistake after the fact. What about people who regret the shot, regret going along, and are now refusing boosters and won’t go along with new lockdowns? Same attitude towards those people? Or different and if so, how?

Like, I don’t see how people going along with malevolence in a netflix/prozac/soy infused haze are ok but someone angry at them isn’t.

I’ll try to define “what they had to do” then…

First, I’ll reiterate that it was BECAUSE OF COMPLIANCE that anyone’s anything was at stake. Compliance was THE CAUSE.

My understanding of what has happened 2020-2022 is one as old as human storytelling.

Some decent guy, maybe has a family, is doing his own thing, working hard, not bugging anyone and along comes something bad. Maybe barbarians, brigands, an invading army. Maybe a greedy governmental official or rich man.

They steal your movable property. They root around and try to find your hidden property. They steal your land. They force you to flee – by ruining your harvest, cutting you off from water, blocking you from transport, the ability to do your trade, whatever. A powerful, legitimately immoral force comes in and ruins everything you had going on. Maybe even wastefully. (evil that is to stupid to even properly profit!)

This is how great-grandfather ends up leaving his destroyed successful farm, business, or trade in the old country and ends up moving to America where he learns a new language and new humble trade in his 50’s. Because, to sum up, barbarians rode in and destroyed the family farm. This happens. History rolls over you in this way and you’re just the poor guy who was working hard not bugging anybody left with smoking ruins.

That’s what the forces were that swooped in ending many of the normal functions of human life and injecting poison. One of these historical things that rolls over the peasants and burns their productive nice little humble farm down in the process.

So bad people are coming to burn your farm down and steal your cow. Yes exactly.

There wasn’t an ALTERNATIVE. It was NOT a question of the peasant kneeling to a new lord and being spared to go about his business, paying his taxes to the new guy same as the old guy. There was no option to bow to a new religion and carry on. There was NO CHOICE OF THAT TYPE. There was no option given to submit in such a way.

The option was – we burn your farm down OR we poison you and you give us support for poisoning everyone else and burning down everyone else’s farm.

Look I’m sorry if barbarians come burn down your farm and you have to run to America to start over in your 50’s selling pencils on a street corner, but they REALLY ARE barbarians/invaders burning down your family farm.

For the people taking the shot, it seems to me for many it was kind of an incantation intended to transport them sideways into a world where relatively comfortable normalcy continues. The Secret. “Manifesting Reality.”

But I will lose my house? But I will go hungry? But Jr will have to quit college? But xyz thing will be missed out on? YES that is what happens when barbarians, invaders, or other plunderers show up, uninvited, to steal what they can and burn everything else down. And?

Nobody is going to be a good provider with myocardis or any other number of diseases. Certainly being dead makes you a bad provider.

I don’t even say there’s a moral obligation to actively fight. If you’ve got a family to care for, perhaps there’s a moral obligation to flee. My family fled the Bolsheviks with good reason. They didn’t actively fight them. But they didn’t JOIN them.

the only way taking the shot makes any sense is as a magic spell to be able to say “this isn’t happening” but it was and is.

I don’t feel the same vicious “that’s what you get!” that others feel. But when I think of those who complied, I feel ill. I feel sick to my stomach. Because of their credulity, incuriosity, and obedience. Whatever they didn’t know, they knew quite a lot. They knew compliance was what was powering everything happening. They knew they’d been lied to via every respected institution for the previous 6 years, on some level they knew this. ENOUGH people knew this to have non compliance stop it if they had only made their actions congruent with what they didn’t want to know.

What they “had to do” that they REALLY did was to say “this isn’t happening” and having said that, decided to have the farm not get burned down, support the barbarians, and take an injection of… (blank out. this isn’t happening. This can’t be happening.)

I did consider getting a fake shot. A very real option. Fire up the ol Tor browser and find a solution. Or just ask the $18/hr non doctor in the tent – “Do you like money?” waggle a $500 wad of $20’s and point at the needle and then the trash can.

But faking compliance would have supported everything going on as much as real compliance. So I didn’t. I could not pretend that the horde of horses standing there in my ruined fields in front of my burning buildings wasn’t actually there. I could not bring myself to ignore their existence, what they were doing, or the help I would be giving them.

Nobody needs to provide personal details, as if they were on trial, to someone else’s judgment, to justify some expression of their bitterness towards the compliant. Especially considering the behavior for YEARS of many of the compliant.

Those who went along bolstered destruction of nation, institutions, culture, freedom, families, friendships, as well as the murder of tens of millions and the injury of billions.

    Moreover, FOR WHAT?

For the ability to travel. For the ability to socially mingle and shop freely. To keep a job.

But of course it was those complying that were the very ones putting these things at stake. If no one complied, or enough people didn’t, NONE of these things would be at risk.

If you want to morally equivocate, say that the people with contempt for the compliance that led to all the wrongs that happened AND ARE STILL HAPPENING is just as bad as the pro injection which does not vaccinate people hoping to dance on the graves of people who did not comply, then state YOUR case rather than pretending you can put someone else on trial for feelings – rather justified feelings. The burden is on you. Go for it.

When I refused the jab which does not vaccinate and lost my job, it was because I recognized a duty to not comply. REGARDLESS of whether anyone “goes along” with me.

For those who took it and persecuted those who did not, ie those who WENT ALONG… of COURSE, to do it if nobody would go along did not compute. Integral to their psychology.

If it was persecution of Ukrainians, then why were Russian farmers, Russian landowners, etc getting persecuted and why was starvation occurring outside The Ukraine as well? Why were millions of Russians being fed into the Gulag system if it was all merely a prejudice against Ukrainians?

Or maybe the USSR was just running agriculture, storage, and distribution along “enlightened,” new-thinking, “materialist” lines all over ssr-land

Funny, the peeps selling “overshoot,” limits to growth, etc, are the same people that insist any nation with negative population growth figures must accept unlimited numbers of people from positive population growth countries to facilitate further population growth. …thus continuing population growth in countries that would have started shrinking and enabling further population growth in other countries?

Are B52’s flying round-the-clock missions out of Diego Garcia dropping condoms and family planning leaflets on positive population growth countries? Are the streams of migrants providing pressure-relief to positive growth countries being turned back, blocked, to force an end to further overshoot? Is international aid being made contingent on achieving a stop to population growth? Is the machine that demonizes Russia and gloats that its population is shrinking demonizing positive population growth countries at least as hard?

And the “experts” leading us by the nose towards the solution never go first. Never. You first sir. Go on.

The weirdest thing is how the self-proclaimed “materialists” seem to be the ones who retreat into an irreality of word salad.

And the ones wanting to “bring justice” and “make things fair” through a cutting-edge, better-reasoned, materialist system are the ones who retreat to the oldest governmental systems — the ones that Sargon, Cyrus, Nebuchadnezzar, Clovis, or Alaric would have no trouble recognizing, understanding, and running. The most unfair, corrupt types of systems, ultimately based almost purely on pecking order and pull. And kickbacks and bribery. And nepotism.

…justified by, essentially, religious moralistic excuses. At least Odovacer recognized he was taking over useful sophisticated structures. Obvious to an invading barbarian but not a “materialist.”

It’s almost as if self-proclaimed materialists get frustrated at the nuance and complexity of balance of powers, live and let live, rights… the sophisticated structures, the complexity of interrelation, the constant need to give-and-take, is what “materialists” seem to truly rebel against.

…which makes things awkward for an atheist such as myself. 2020, more than any previous year, I looked around and thought about who I am definitely NOT with. Apparently that includes people screeching that they are “materialists.”

…like, sure, it is shocking that all told, with Twitter, 10,000 useless employees, 7,000 useless contractors, 17,000 x $100,000 salary = $1,700,000,000??? More with benefits, free lunches, administration and support for this 17,000 etc? 2 billion a year to keep 17,000 stupid idiots around for how many years?

    But that’s just one company!

Someone paying 17,000 people billions to be stupid pernicious idiots in perpetuity is bad enough. But that’s one company. Multiply it across the economy of the West

How many thousands strong is the dumb pernicious idiot army? Does it cost a trillion a year, all told? Trillions. A year! But where would the economic activity be to funnel EXISTING dollars into this stuff? Does every single dollar get taxed or confiscated, funnel through the idiot army, then come back out to us to run our grocery stores, trucking companies, doctors offices, cab companies, etc? Surely not.

So some sort of continual printing/counterfeiting/laundering on a scale equaling the Federal Reserve/Treasury system, surely. Providing money for every stupid thing imaginable in EXCESS of what can be carefully and professionally used, so you have 3rd stringers bungling up handling billions.

The thing that strikes me sometimes, when reading the aggregated news, isn’t the specific issue, topic, etc.

It’s that stupid assholes have permeated every part of civilization and are all standing underneath a waterfall of neverending money, the source of which, high up in the sky, cannot be seen, but is infinite. Somehow, you can be a stupid asshole continually and never run out of money.

And it’s the same dynamic everywhere, fractal as well – zoom in, zoom out, same kind of dumb.

So take the entertainment industry. Ghostbusters 2016. The Last Jedi was 2017. It was obvious that it was dumb, self-destructive behavior. It was obvious the end product was awful. Forgettable EXCEPT in its awfulness.

But Amazon ran the same play on Lord of the Rings just recently. 6 years after Ghostbusters 2016. Same marketing/publicity strategy only moreso. Effusive, vague lies about loving the works of Tolkien only to do an inversion in every conceivable way. Preaching We Are The Moral Ones and anyone who doesn’t like what they are doing Are The Evil Ones.

Like Dolly Parton says, “It takes a lot of money to look this cheap.”

Many billions have been lost in the entertainment industry in the last decade – either actual losses, missed revenue, depleted IP’s that now hold no value. And in most cases, the franchises that were ruined were a license to print money and easy to crank out as cooking ramen noodles.

However many billions were lost, there must be some multiplier effect in play – to destroy a dollar of revenue that WOULD have been generated by doing normal entertainment, considering it is going against all common sense, business sense, and sheer survival of companies and employees in the industry, it must take MULTIPLE dollars to destroy one dollar.

HOW MUCH is being spent to make people do things that OUGHT to destroy their careers, destroy their stock value, etc? 4-1 ratio? 10-1? More? How much is being spent to prevent professionals from making decent product that takes all the oxygen out of the room for the drek? For instance, how easy would it have been for some studio, after seeing The Last Jedi, to get a great director, great writers, and release a mass-appeal space opera a week before Rise of Skywalker? Something actually designed to delight the audience?

But it never happens. There is, apparently, infinite money for awful suckitude, neverending. Star Trek, Star Wars, Ghostbusters, Dr Who, on and on. Somehow there are ZERO consequences.

Better product does not get released, competition does not occur. People don’t lose their jobs, get kicked off of corporate boards, etc. Because there’s a waterfall of infinite money falling from SOMEWHERE on each and every one of a HORDE of idiots.

Almost a billion was spent on the awful failure of Amazon’s Lord of the Rings (so called) travesty. And anyone checking in its progress could have easily SEEN what was happening early on. Costuming as if for a church christmas play – mumus, bathrobes, and fabric wrapped around the torso. Tolkien elves made to look like Keebler elves who just came from a salon. Sword fights done by actors who never learned stage fighting, filmed by showrunners who don’t know fight cinematography, choreographed by the blind and mentally incompetent. Continual non understanding of basic lessons learned as part of early childhood development – time, space, distance, mass, object permanence, causality. Dialogue that sounds like two 90’s chatbots trying to talk with each other.

It was breathtaking watching Disney destroy an IP they paid 5 billion for. It was astounding to watch Amazon, 5 years later, do even WORSE with a 1 Billion TV show, with Disney’s object lesson fresh in everyone’s mind.

Infinite money coming from…. somewhere. For years and years. A Wrinkle in Time. Terminator. I have trouble remembering all the screwups from all the other screwups taking up memory. But even Hollywood blockbusters and mainstream TV programming are small potatoes compared to other stuff out there showing the same exact fractal pattern of dumb and Not Working. For years.

I can only surmise that someone has figured out how to print fake money and launder it on a massive scale – going through Vanguard and Black Rock somehow? …or, having perfected their methods what, 10 years ago at least, through any number of mechanisms?

I can’t figure any other way in which stupidity can not only persist but increase for years. Stupidity no one wants. Stupidity everyone wanted to stop years ago. An infinite waterfall of money.

So I figure someone out there must have figured out how to print fake digital dollars and launder it into the monetary system. Some way that apparently has no limitation.

And decided in 2016 to just open the floodgates and spend it on Stupid EVERYWHERE. The civilizational equivalent of building a house covered in black tar shingle with no insulation and then just running your AC for all it is worth. Huge energy inputs to go against reality and somehow filling up every nook and cranny of society as Just How Things Work???

My takeaway from FTX would be that everything is now saturated. The game is so widespread, in such depth, that ADDITIONAL games of this sort get run by 3rd stringers. That it has become so commonplace, blase, that sloppiness sets in.

Sort of like, remember in the 90’s when Marketing discovered the new Demographic, “Active Lifestyle”?

First, they would show images of people being athletic, talk to you in the ad about things YOU do that fit The Active Lifestyle. Back when that was cutting edge marketing. But after a few years, they just started saying THE WORDS “active lifestyle” The 3rd stringers, once they caught onto the concept, can’t be bothered. Slap it up there without quite getting it. Hey, we said the words.

So much work “basketing” deplorable concepts into an indivisible yarn ball in peoples’ minds, so that hopefully just a mere TOUCH on one of them sets off a freakout about all of them together. But then eventually can’t be f’ed to actively basket as a verb when speaking. Too lazy. Just actually SAY “basket of deplorables” Because after awhile you get used to using the expression instead of doing it. F it, that’s for my interns to do anyway.

Someone out there probably has an official, studied term for it but… FTX is, to me, an indicator of total saturation of whatever this massive trillions-level fraud system is that has gone into overdrive for the past 6 years.

Polemos, You want me to climb inside your assumptions, and then from within your assumptions do battle? With something vague enough to defy attempts to grapple? Nah.

If Life Is But A Dream, then it’s a dream in which there is a thing called observable, consistent reality that we dream, which is an illusion, but which is incredibly consistent just as if it were a reality. So rather than saying “Reality is a dream” just say “Reality is Reality” and then you can be even more exact by saying ….reality.

Just go ahead and show the data that people sustain verifiable, measurable brain damage and go on with their lives normally all the time, better even. Show me people taking large quantities of brain-altering drugs but experiencing no change to consciousness because their soul is not their brain.

Or does the belief in dualism stand fast wherever science does not yet go, but retreat from everywhere it DOES go? Compared to where it was 1,000 years ago for instance.

An Unfortunate Dualist (The Mind’s I, by Douglas R Hofstradter and Daniel C Dennett)

Once upon a time there was a dualist. He believed that mind and matter are separate substances. Just how they interacted he did not pretend to know-this was one of the “mysteries” of life. But he was sure they were quite separate substances.

This dualist, unfortunately, led an unbearably painful life-not because of his philosophical beliefs, but for quite different reasons. And he had excellent empirical evidence that no respite was in sight for the rest of his life. He longed for nothing more than to die. But he was deterred from suicide by such reasons as: (1) he did not want to hurt other people by his death; (2) he was afraid suicide might be morally wrong; (3) he was afraid there might be an afterlife, and he did not want to risk the possibility of eternal punishment. So our poor dualist was quite desperate.

Then came the discovery of the miracle drug! Its effect on the taker was to annihilate the soul or mind entirely but to leave the body functioning exactly as before. Absolutely no observable change came over the taker; the body continued to act just as if it still had a soul. Not the closest friend or observer could possibly know that the taker had taken the drug, unless the taker informed him.

Do you believe that such a drug is impossible in principle? Assuming you believe it possible, would you take it? Would you regard it as immoral? Is it tantamount to suicide? Is there anything in Scriptures forbidding the use of such a drug? Surely, the body of the taker can still fulfill all its responsibilities on earth. Another question: Suppose your spouse took such a drug, and you knew it. You would know that she (or he) no longer had a soul but acted just as if she did have one. Would you love your mate any less?

To return to the story, our dualist was, of course, delighted! Now he could annihilate himself (his soul, that is) in a way not subject to any of the foregoing objections. And so, for the first time in years, he went to bed with a light heart, saying: “Tomorrow morning I will go down to the drugstore and get the drug. My days of suffering are over at last!” With these thoughts, he fell peacefully asleep.
Now at this point a curious thing happened. A friend of the dualist who knew about this drug, and who knew of the sufferings of the dualist, decided to put him out of his misery. So in the middle of the night, while the dualist was fast asleep, the friend quietly stole into the house and injected the drug into his veins. The next morning the body of the dualist awoke-without any soul indeed-and the first thing it did was to go to the drugstore to get the drug. He took it home and, before taking it, said, “Now I shall be released.” So he took it and then waited the time interval in which it was supposed to work. At the end of the interval he angrily exclaimed: “Damn it, this stuff hasn’t helped at all! I still obviously have a soul and am suffering as much as ever!”

So tired of how effing stupid people can be. Here’s a clue for biological men: you aren’t women. You can’t replicate our reality so you can experience it. Full stop (again … see first sentence).

Women and men recover differently from strokes – ie, from brain damage. Due to different brain structure. There are no scientific studies showing that men who blast-email their coworkers that they will be “living as a woman” gain post-stroke health benefits.

As a person who believes in actual science not The Science™, I feel fairly certain that human intelligence, thought, consciousness resides in the BRAIN and is thus human thought, consciousness, is a physical event in the brain. This is given confirmation by, for instance, if you take a drug that affects the brain, your thoughts change. If your brain is damaged, your ability to think and remember may change, etc.

To be a female consciousness in a male body, you would need a FEMALE BRAIN. But female brains physically exist only in female bodies. Female brains are a female body part that men do not have. Otherwise men attempting to recover from strokes would declare themselves to be women to regain the use of half their body or face, the ability to walk, the ability to form sentences, etc – it would be so worth it that everyone would do it.

Even if we had super advanced nanotechnology that could rebuild a man into the shape of a woman, hypothocated off their one X chromosome… in order to experience reality AS, not as if a woman, you’d need a female brain structure. This would require tearing down the EXISTING structure, your brain, your consciousness, WHICH IS YOU.

The best you could do, perhaps, would be to create a new female person with your memories who believes she was once you. But there would be no continuity of consciousness. You would end and they would begin. Your body would act merely as raw materials for building someone new. So why create this new female person with your memories destructively? If you could do a non-destructive scan and build her from scratch, leaving you alone, then you could continue living AND there could be a female sort-of-not-but-kinda-you. You’d have time to survey the results, watch them claim to be you and to have your memories, and see if suicide would be desirable and have any logical connection to creation of this new person.

You need a female brain in order to experience reality as a female. Not possessing a female brain, a man can only say “I imagine what a woman might feel like and believe that I feel like that.” To then throw on a flower dress, some pearls, and a handbag, and say “THIS IS YOU.” is sort of the ultimate mansplain isn’t it?

But it will be argued, oh but the MIND could be female even if the BRAIN is not.

No, the brain IS the mind. The physical things occurring in the brain ARE your thoughts, your consciousness. To argue otherwise is an old RELIGOUS argument, that the consciousness…. the SOUL, follows you around like a ghost, CAUSING all the physically observable things happening in the brain but being the actual seat of consciousness independent of what is physically there, what physically happens.

Dualism. Physical brain. Disembodied spiritual mind. Superstition. Religion. Not science. Anytime you have Dualism, that’s what you’re discussing.

So dudes claiming they “feel like” a woman without the brain architecture to do so is silly. But at least they have an X chromosome. At least there is SOME basis for a claim to femaleness however vague. For people possessing no Y chromosome claiming maleness… er…. there is no scientific study showing the females who blast email their coworkers that they shall be living as a man recover worse from strokes. You need the brain of a man to feel and think like a man.

I have a great idea for a Babylon Bee article.

Take all the tropes of news stories regarding “quiet quitting” and Chinese millennials “lying flat” and do a story about how the Republican Party finally admits, they got “fed up with all the bullshit” and have “quiet quit” years ago — “my constituents (my boss) only noticed a drop-off in my productivity this November …and I quiet quit FIVE YEARS ago!” etc. Practically writes itself.

Re: Dr D’s post about American Disassociation

makes me think of an oldie but goodie in the doom-o-sphere from 2010. I STRONGLY recommend anyone Dr D’s post struck a sympathetic chord to read it.

Sleep, Dreaming, and National Suicide (from Charles Hugh Smith’s oftwominds blog)

The news lately is a blizzard of destruction: wars, recession, the financial crisis, deficits, drugs abuse, and border wars, random violence, declining education, energy crisis and the Deepwater Horizon, national policy, corporate malfeasance, collapsing communities, bankrupt cities, states, and nations, the list goes on and on. How did we get here? What’s causing all this bad news?

    To me it’s simple:

All these effects are symptoms of Depression.

Not Economic Depression, like the 1930s stock crash, but National Depression, the psychological state.

Are we crazy? Are we trying to commit national suicide?

And I’m here to tell you in no uncertain terms the answer is “YES!”, that’s exactly what we’re doing, complete with the panoply of symptoms and not-so quiet cries for help.

Depression is not some random disease, a chemical imbalance caused by losing the genetic lottery. Depression has several causes, clearly-defined, clearly-traceable, clearly-provable, clearly-curable. The main cause of depression is simple: it’s cognitive dissonance. That’s a fancy way of saying, you have two ideas that don’t mesh and are at war with each other. It’s a way of saying, you’ve swallowed a lie or a pack of lies, and they’re poisoning you from within.

GOP Nears House Majority With Two Race Calls In Arizona (JTN)

And so those Democrat congresspersons, having been told it is UP TO THEM to pass an abortion law if they want one, spent all their time protesting this decision instead of passing the law they want.

For example, a law that makes abortion definitely legal, within x number of months of pregancy, in cases of rape. One page, no pork, no additional clauses, just the one thing. Put it out there and dare Republicans not to pass it.

But it made more sense to protest on the steps of the Supreme Court against being able to do that.

In connection with the funeral homes… they say they are finding strange, long “clots.” There’s certainly lots of pictures out there. I would love to know if anyone checked to see what they are definitely made of. They are white – not the typical color of a clot if I understand correctly.

I decided to check what is the craziest idea of what they are, so I searched “clot analysis” on bitchute and received search results saying they have a “metallic composition” and contain “self-assembling biocircutry” which “”seek out tin, aluminum, and sodium while avoiding magnesium”

So now I know what Bitchute thinks, but am probably no wiser. I too sometimes seek out tin.

But I guess if you’ve had the shot and give bitchute some credence, don’t drink beverages from cans. Probably best to avoid aluminum deodorants as well. And aluminum baking powder. And use parchment paper or corningware when baking.

If this were happening, we’d see, what, a sodium deficiency or salt-craving? If something IS self assembling, then what’s the plan to get it the construction materials it needs? If the shots contained metals, (titanium, iron, etc…) well… does that fit a working theory? Lol is this going to be a fantastic year for salty snack manufacturers?

If the self-assembling thingies tinfoil theory is correct, then we should see nutrient deficiencies in the injected, shouldn’t we, just like with any other parasite? What nutrient and trace nutrient deficiencies might we be seeing if it were checked? (would it mirror the metals and %’s of metals in doses that had been rejected due to contamination?)

I sure wish there was higher grade info available than tinfoil.

RE: the rivers being an obstacle. I’ve been thinking about Dr D’s post on the withdrawal for a few days now. Here’s my armchair general take on it.

Post-Kursk – so 1943 onward – Germany maintained, what the complaining Generals called in their memoirs, “strategic balconies.” Positions at the northern and southern edges of the front (along the Baltic and Black seas) would be DEEPLY bypassed, but instead of allowing the Generals to pull back, it was insisted they be left there for future operations that never came.

Those “strategic balconies” DO match those areas most troublesome to get into due to being close to the mouths of large rivers. So the areas the USSR bypassed in 1943-1944 could be expected to line up well with areas Russia would bypass in the future.

The Dneiper bend was broken into, starting around October 1943. Major thrusts came between Kremenchug and Dnepropetrosk (Kemenchuck and Dneipro) The other breakthrough was between Pereyaslavl and Kanev (Pereyaslavl and Kinev)

By Feb 1944, the USSR is halfway to the Dneister, with the Bug still to cross as well. Nevertheless, there’s Germans hanging onto the Dneiper from a little south of Nikopol all the way down to Kherson. Even though the USSR is already in Luck/Lutsk in Poland 400 miles further West!

Every map of the situation changing, from the Germans sitting on the Dneiper until they are ejected from the USSR, the USSR does appear to be bypassing them near the Black Sea and then attacking these positions from the North at their leisure. And generally speaking, the USSR pushed the Germans off the Dneiper by attacking South, not West.

Therefore they’d need to be sitting on the Dneiper from Kremenchug down to Dnepropetrosk if they want Odessa.

How far are they from that line? From approximately where they are now-

    250km/155mi from Kharkov to Kremenchug/Kemenchuck
    140km/87mi from Vasylivka to Dnepropetrosk/Dnipro

So they have QUITE a long ways to go before reaching the October 1943 jumping off point for dislodging the opposition from the Dneiper bend. I think the absolute soonest it could happen IF EVER would be Summer 2023. Too far away for this Winter. Spring is Mud Season. Highly unlikely, but incredibly unlikely before then.

How come a graph that is deliberately terminated 95 years before the present is labelled ‘YOU ARE HERE’?

Does the perpetrator of this piece of deceit want to suggest that the present is the year 1927?

Or does the perpetrator of this deceit want to hide something -such as that data from recent decades shows a very different trend- in order to promote an entirely fake narrative?

I knew about FTX right from the start. Not the NAME. But as soon as I saw dems frothing at the mouth that we need to send billions and even MOAR billions to The Ukraine, I knew those billions would end up funding the Democrat party in the midterms.

The only question was what name would pop up for the money launderer and how much would get skimmed on the way back to the US.

Hillary spent, officially, a billion on her run. If even 5 billion made it back to the US, that’s a lot of official funding and a lot of bribes and things as well.

Don’t tell me FTX is the only one unless you want me to laugh uncontrollably

I dread the astroturf BS the leftover billions are going to fund in the future. A further delight to look forward to surely.

There is no dictum that all finger pointing is projection. When I point at a rock and say “there is a rock,” I am not a rock. When I point at the wall and say, “It is painted red,” I am not painted red.

It is a mystic principle that the holy must not touch the profane and that in touching, the profane makes the holy unclean. “Touching” the profane by pointing at it and naming it does not make one unclean, because that’s superstitious claptrap.

The right to size up reality, make a judgement call, and act on it, is the right to live. If you attempt to live life without making any value judgments, you will die. If you do not die while admonishing others to not make value judgments, you’re a malicious hypocrite.

If you live in a decadent, easygoing, NICE time period and culture, if you see nice people forbear for years, to avoid conflict, while parties evil press on regardless, then YES it is totally healthy to, aloud, to oneself or others, point a finger and name it.

If you think the evil is in the finger-pointer and “Hey, They aren’t so bad, you exaggerate too much” or “They don’t exist” or whatever, go ahead and ACTUALLY make your case. He Who Smelt It Dealt It is not spiritual wisdom.

A code that forbids you to cast the first stone, has forbidden you to admit the identity of stones and to know when or if you’re being stoned.

The man who refuses to judge, who neither agrees nor disagrees, who declares that there are no absolutes and believes that he escapes responsibility, is the man responsible for all the blood that is now spilled in the world. Reality is an absolute, existence is an absolute, a speck of dust is an absolute and so is a human life. Whether you live or die is an absolute. Whether you have a piece of bread or not, is an absolute. Whether you eat your break or see it vanish into a looter’s stomach, is an absolute.

There are two sides to every issue: one side is right and the other is wrong, but the middle is always evil. The man who is wrong still retains some respect for truth, if only by accepting the responsibility of choice. But the man in the middle is the knave who blanks out the truth in order to pretend that no choice or values exist, who is willing to sit out the course of any battle, willing to cash in on the blood of the innocent or to crawl on his belly to the guilty, who dispenses justice by condemning both the robber and the robbed to jail, who shoves conflicts by ordering the thinker and the fool to meet each other halfway. In any compromise between food and poison, it is only death that can win. In any compromise between good and evil, it is only evil that can profit. In that transfusion of blood which drains the good to feed the evil, the compromiser is the transmitting rubber tube.

wtf is it with de-personing celebrated doctors, forcing state employees to inject or lose their job etc in November 2022? We’ve known for over a year and a half they are dangerous, worse than ineffective, and still experimental. Nobody even knows what’s in them, really.

Is it me or does the impulse to continue to inject come off, almost as like an unreasoning, irrational lust for reproduction? Like the Xenomorphs in the Alien franchise?

One starts to think in terms of science fiction

Strategic Interests — we’re on the cusp of waging war based on microbiology, nanotechnology, and drone swarms. Worse yet, you can end up being in such a war and not know for sure who is waging it on you. Everybody is deploying their primitive nanotech to be ready for the new microbiology/nanotech war, hopefully a cold war. Possibly such a war is underway and the weird behavior of different countries reflects that?

Masters Of The Universe Want To Live Forever — Powerful parties are aging and almost out of time. Only way to get to longevity or immortality is a crash program running MANY simultaneous experiments on billions of humans.

Aliens — See Vernor Vinge’s A Deepness in the Sky. Aliens have lurked in our solar system until we acquired sophisticated enough wireless and internet technology. They’ve studied us to figure out what #%^s us up the most. Individuals, societies, nations, etc. Having fully owned our networks, computers, money systems, political systems, etc, they’re ready to have us destroy ourselves. Or like Rendevous With Rama, we’re going to build the stuff that assembles the aliens for them while getting rid of ourselves. Because, over light years, it’s easier to transport blueprints than to transport life forms. Maybe even inside ourselves.

Aliens 2 — Only wackos would visit us. They could do any number of better things with the necessary resources. They could just send a spy satellite to sit there in stealth relaying them the entire internet if they want to know about us, no need to discuss anything. Only, sadly, something like religious missionaries would want to actually show up. If you see all the craziness in society lately as Alien religious missionaries, horrified and disgusted at human nature and determined to help us and correct us, it actually kinda fits.

AI and TransHumanism — The coming AI tech makes TPTB think they don’t need a bunch of people around anymore. And maybe they did something stupid to themselves too soon with kluge cutting edge tech like some sort of technological or genetic mental augmentation, mind upload, or something else they convinced themselves would be awesome but made them into stupid reptile insect jerks. I suppose a foolish deal with transdimensional demons, clockwork elves, an uncontrolled AI etc would work there too.

just riffing here for fun. I was just thinking about how, a couple months ago, some of the discussion shifted from What Are They Doing to Who Are They to …. WHAT tf Are They.

The Kherson withdrawal is a little confusing.

Russia has a LOT of big rivers running generally north-south so that any east-west combat movement forward OR back has to take all those big rivers into account. The USSR dealt with this QUITE a bit in WW2. Establishment of bridgeheads for advances, logistics running across rivers were THE feature of the war in the east after Kursk. For years and thousands of miles. River after river after river.

But we’re being told the withdrawal is because of the river presenting logistical difficulties along with danger from the dam.

–They don’t have the bridging capabilities prepared to fight inside their own country, even?
–They didn’t drain the dam down over a month or more so that a flood cannot happen?
–A massive bridgehead like Kherson is extremely valuable militarily.
–Isn’t the evacuated area supposed to be part of Russia now? Declare it is Russia and then leave it?

I’ve been scratching my head as to what Russia actually is up to this whole time. But I guess that’s the point.

I realize today that the “Elite Inbreds” situation is truly appalling, but look at it from their point of view: Every day they must get up and work with us. They can never escape us. Because all and every bit of their power can and does only come FROM us. So no matter what they do, no matter how much they hate, despise, and belittle us, tomorrow for them they are only down in the mire, in a pigsty with us deplorable vermin all over again, another day having to manipulate, convince, direct, control, and murder us all over again. Covered with s–t and not gods at all. A Sisyphean state for all eternity.

Back when I worked for a ginormous corporation that eventually fired me for not taking a shot that doesn’t vaccinate, there was a recurring pattern.

I’d be put in a job position, trained, given my responsibilities, metrics/deliverables to meet etc. …and then find that for some essential parts of the task, I had to stop and ask someone else’s permission. Always someone else’s permission who had less knowledge of the situation and of the job.

Sometimes everything had to go to some faceless locationless backoffice group who clearly had a quota to meet. They were allowed to reply with clarifying questions. If we didn’t reply to questions within a certain time period, they could close out the request with no work done. Therefore there were ALWAYS questions, regardless of how detailed, concise, and complete the request was. Because it’s easier to ask a question that was already answered than do an hour’s worth of work.

Or it would go to a supervisor. These requests were relatively easy because of daily interaction with that person, prior experience at our level, etc. But it still took time to compose the request, have a conversation explaining the request, wait for them to get out of a meeting, not be having a day off, etc.

When TPTB realized the sups were making rational, reasonably quick, confident decisions, they’d push the decision back another step. We would need to email the sup with a written request. The sup could then send a written request to some faceless locationless person elsewhere asking permission. We couldn’t ask those people directly. We had to ask a sup to ask them. For core tasks within our own job. For all I know, those backoffice people had to ask yet someone else for permission. In some cases, I verified they DID.

Basically, whenever TPTB realized someone was sizing up the situation for themselves, deciding what would be right, and then doing it …they simply could not stand it.

Their coping method was that someone ELSE would decide. But as soon as they realized someone ELSE was sizing up the situation for themselves, deciding what would be right, and then doing it they’d freak out all over again and push the decision-making power to yet some other entity.

They simply cannot stand that process existing in just ….some PERSON out there, just having the NERVE to DO it – size it up, decide what’s right, do it.

They seem psychologically relieved when it appears to them that no one can do this. But of course, that’s exactly what they NEED from everyone in their company. And they’re always trying to stop it.

With the advent of semi-sophisticated algorithms, they were absolutely jubilant. FINALLY they could have NOBODY making decisions. They developed a algo based web tool that we were all supposed to consult and obey. C-suite people were on announcement videos sent company-wide saying things like:

    “It’s AI!!! It’s AI!!!”

    and

    “Trust The Robot!”

They really truly thought they would be free of us while still able to use us.

But all the same things were in play as ever in a bureaucracy. They are the ones directing the programming of the “AI Robot.” They are the ones measuring and deciding what to measure. They are the ones living in the toxic soup of clueless maniuplative middle managers and project managers THEY selected advising them on what to measure, how to measure, what the “data” means, and what orders to give via “robot”

They really, sincerely seemed to think an algo meant they’d never have to let another human being act on their own perceptions and judgment again. I’m not sure I ever saw upper mgt happier.

But of course, one of the first rules you learn as a worker- DON’T inform management about the job except for existing problems you want solved (which they will not solve anyway) NEVER tell them what you do that WORKS. If you tell them you are doing rational things yourself, they will have a heart attack and put a stop to it ASAP. Workers protectively guard the vital information from the algo-users. We won’t tell you what’s vital and we sure won’t help you decide how to figure out what is vital.

Occasionally there’d be some process that would be causing endless grief for workers and customers, cost to the company. We’d tell management for 6 months, a year, no change.

I discovered if I found myself, in a meeting, training, or something where a middle manager was, there was another method available for fixing problems. If I worked it into conversation somehow that this problem was an ADVANTAGE to workers, if I put on a snide, smug face and voice, made out purely by TONE that we were getting away with something (getting away with accomplishing some task within the job as opposed to doing something bad!!!), that I thought I was clever knowing it…. within 2 hours of getting out of the meeting, there’d be a department wide, caps, boldface email putting an end to the hated process.

They were so stupid. If they had asked me ANYTHING about the problem, I’d have had to admit I had no details proving it was something we were getting away with or benefiting from. My act would have fallen apart at the touch of a feather. But they would never, ever ask. They would witness my smug, shitty aren’t-I-clever act and just move to stomp on it via email asap. So dumb. The same manager that wouldn’t fix the issue for a year would fix it in 2 hours if I played on their compulsive dread.

This was a consistent 20 year experience while process document owners, managers, VP’s, CEO’s, company names changed. Somewhere in the culture of the company, the bureaucracy, there was kind of a standing wave, a continuous thing no matter who came and went.

Just mind your own business and let us get things done. But that’s what they cannot stand.

mRNA “Vaccines” Causing Cells To Produce Spike Proteins Is A Fairy Tale (OffG)

Did the study that showed mRNA reverse transcribing into DNA in liver cells check by looking for generic antibodies? I would think they used some other method to determine DNA reverse transcription.

So if mRNA can’t get in there and if it can it can’t do anything, how does it also get in there and reverse transcribe into DNA?

    @Dr D

To the extent that Umberto Eco misses the mark (although he does pretty good, really) when he DOES miss, it is as if he is saying “When you look out your window and see goose-stepping soldiers parading in shiny high boots, then you have fascism, and when you look out the window and don’t, then you don’t have fascism”

To SOME extent, he takes a particular external stylistic approach and assumes it is the underlying thing. Totalitarians gladly grab whatever gives leverage. So saying they have a taste for grasping a PARTICULAR thing for leverage would be wrong. Is he too naive to say fascism is beside the point? Tradition? You can make ANYTHING tradition with enough repetition.

Maybe a simpler definition would be:

1.) They’re good at gaining control
2.) They’re bad at running anything (and think competence and good stewardship is beneath them?)
3.) First they blame The Bad People for ruining their Brilliant Plans
4.) Eventually – but without TOO much delay or hand-wringing – they say “Fine, we’ll just use slavery/forced labor to make our plans work”
5.) Despite continually finding new enemies to eliminate and conscripting more forced labor, nothing works anyway.
6.) Their security forces realize they are superfluous, given a long enough time frame.

It’s interesting how Eco both predicts Wokeism and fails to predict Wokeism at the same time.

I tend to get suspicious of people focusing specifically on fascism. YES 30-s-40s Germany was bad. Obviously. But just to the east you get the same methods being used for 70+ years without getting the same kind of attention. So if the methods are not objectionable, just the doctrine, then what’s his point? And if the methods ARE objectionable, why linger over the STYLE in which the same methods are used? Obsession with “fascism” tends to be a telltale sign of a still-butthurt internationalist socialist movement mad at the breakaway nationalist socialist movement. The nationalist flavor totally lost due to being more incompetent and it’s been over 75 years. I guess ideologies can get PTSD too.

    The midterm results are hilarious.

OF COURSE Americans love runaway inflation, not being able to afford a home, unemployment, weird fascist medical regimes that destroy lives, families, societies and cancel everything that is fun, demented presidents, brain-damaged senators, the threat of nuclear war, the inability to speak freely, sending billions and billions of dollars overseas while not spending billions to rebuild the small businesses that were destroyed by the policies they love, not spending billions to stop repeated shipments of enough fentanyl to kill the entire country, not spending billions to fix the mounting homeless or crime problems, not spending billions to fix the crumbling infrastructure.

Sure, makes sense. You just have to realize the demographics of America have changed. You just don’t have the same political concerns or blocs in America anymore. Just look at that pie chart. See that huge pie slice of People Who Love Punching Themselves In The Face Continually has now reached a size to swing any election? You just have to understand a modern electorate.

Historically, Americans would vote for The Other Party when things become intolerable. Even when that isn’t really a solution. But not this time kids. Maybe next time.

With COVID-19, there was this large event that people could not control, so how could they make sense of it? One way is by adhering to conspiracy theories.

I noticed, in the religious exemption request for the shot which does not vaccinate, they wanted documentation that I was following orders from some religious authority figure

when I explained that their requirement that I must be blindly following SOMEONE’S orders was itself against my beliefs and then explained how their requirement was against my beliefs, they replied that I had sent no documentation. They meant no VALID documentation, as they clearly recognized I had sent them …something. 18 pages of it. But I had sent “no documentation”

for people for whom actual critical thought, logic, science, skepticism, free will, are not a thing, they can only imagine “conspiracy theory” being explained as ADHERENCE TO something as opposed to breaking away from something.

You can send them 18 pages of well-considered rational explanation that you have honed over many hours to be as logical and concise as possible, and they will respond that you have said nothing – does not compute. You did not adhere to anything. You were not following anyone’s orders. Therefore you “make no sense” and have “said nothing”

With COVID-19, there was this large event that people could not control, so how could they make sense of it?

The concept that people DID make some sense of it does not compute.

Probably based on an underlying concept that people cannot know or understand anything and only do things because of how they were influenced. A disbelief in human consciousness as the baseline belief.

My point isn’t even that Joe is faking it.

My point is that, if we can conceivably see Joe faking it as the more rational explanation, then we are REALLY out into weird/awful territory.

Like in Dune, if your Mentat can only compute super weird conclusions from available data, something is very, very wrong. In the Dune series, it’s the point at which the Mentat gets mad, turns to his boss, and asks, essentially “Dude, why are you #%^ing with me?”

Like, if I try to “compute” what is going on with Joe, I theorize:

    1. He’s faking it
    2. He’s so debilitated, all parties have agreed, after medical analysis, that he poses no harm blabbing up on a stage on live TV (NO chance a brain cell manages to fire and he mentions some filthy deal publicly? He’s a certified, total vegetable with metaphysical-level certitude?)
    3. Some scifi area 51 DARPA/CIA solution has been applied that they know DEFINITELY makes him safe
    4. The senile guy on stage is a double/fake/actor that never knew any secrets to divulge
    5. His handlers, the people his handlers work for, and his wife can’t stop continually punching themselves in the face, only able to briefly pause to gasp “this is the best performance we can get from Joe” before resuming continual self-face-punching

If this was Dune, this would be the moment your Mentat starts raging incoherently and trashing the room like Citizen Kane or Kate Winslet in Titanic.

“This might be the best performance the owners can get from ‘Joe Biden'”

And again, I would assume this is as good a performance as you could have gotten out of Ronald Reagan. But we never saw a circus like this with Ronald Reagan when HIS mind was gone.

This is the best performance we can get from Biden’s HANDLERS, is it? Are his handlers, and his handlers’ handlers, all equally disabled by dementia?
