Mr. HouseParticipant
If that is the future, it strikes me as being very Roman.
Mr. HouseParticipant“Ask Abe and Kuroda.”
So declining household formation and birthrates. National Suicide?
Mr. HouseParticipant“The only result is that people spend less, because they don’t trust the government urging for them to spend more”
If you can’t even get people to spend more, which most people are inclined to do, because they don’t trust you, how do you run a society?
Mr. HouseParticipantMr. HouseParticipantOccam’s razor:
We needed an excuse to print the largest amounts of money in the history of the world, knew we couldn’t do it without some kind of cover and here we are. Release a virus that mainly hurts the eldest in your society, you didn’t want to pay for them on social security and medicaid anyways. Hype it up and blast conflicting information to confuse the populace. Wash rinse and repeat
Mr. HouseParticipant@maxwell quest
I concur sir. I live what i preach. My father always taught me to take responsibility for my actions. I’ll keep an eye out for that movie. Another good quote from cloud atlas to equal out my cynicism:
Belief is both prize & battlefield, within the mind & in the mind’s mirror, the world. If we believe humanity is a ladder of tribes, a colosseum of confrontation, exploitation & bestiality, such a humanity is surely brought into being, & history’s Horroxes, Boerhaaves & Gooses shall prevail. You & I, the moneyed, the privileged, the fortunate, shall not fare so badly in this world, provided our luck holds. What of it if our consciences itch? Why undermine the dominance of our race, our gunships, our heritage & our legacy? Why fight the “natural” (oh, weaselly word!) order of things?
Why? Because of this:—one fine day, a purely predatory world shall consume itself. Yes, the devil shall take the hindmost until the foremost is the hindmost. In an individual, selfishness uglifies the soul. For the human species, selfishness is extinction.
Mr. HouseParticipantHe took the kid
He wants the right
They took his ears
They took his eyes
They said a ride
Is never free
He couldn’t hear
He couldn’t see
Well there are things
That have to die
So other things
Can stay alive
The fire burns
It burns to give
It has to burn alive to live
The other men spoke low
They took a vote and said no
They turned around real slow
Where did they go? Where did they go?
And the question oh, the question
Can the kid keep his eyes?
And the fire doesn’t die, said, “no”
Said, “no”
Said, “you don’t know what king we serve, boy
Oh, you don’t know what things we employ”
The other men spoke low
They took a vote and said no
They turned around real slow
Where did they go? Where did they go?Mr. HouseParticipant@ Zerosum
Yep. Ever had a corporate boss who didn’t like you just because? Not because you did a bad job, in fact they knew the rest of the group couldn’t get the workload done without, but because you wouldn’t bend the knee and kiss the ring, they made your life a living hell?
Mr. HouseParticipant“This theme seems to be endemic today, the powerful preying upon the weak. It is tolerated, accepted, encouraged, and now rewarded. Can such a system long endure when the corruption typically found in the gutter is enshrined as the driving engine of the nation?”
When in human history has this not been the system? Cloud atlas (a great movie and book) had a line “the weak are meat that the strong do eat”. Life is just one never ending stint in high school. The strong and powerful didn’t bully the weak in high school? That’s why i can’t get down with BLM and all these social justice movements. That type of bullying happens to everyone and anyone.
Mr. HouseParticipantwhen you think about it economics is alot like covid 19. It is a system that we all live in, and if the majority of actors are not responsible it ends up hurting other people. Hence i wear a mask when i’m in a store because i don’t want to hurt anyone else. But in economics, who gives a s$%^ about responsibility, so don’t lecture me about being responsible
Mr. HouseParticipant“Perhaps you shouldn’t have bought a house in the past ten years but booooy you couldn’t resist those low low interest rates huh?”
Not to mention that you don’t even have to put any money down these days! What is it, 1% or 3% you have to be able to put down to buy a house? I think my old man told me his first house was 20% down. What is wrong with that? Oh well if you’re trying to keep the ponzi scheme that is our housing market alive, you can’t demand that people put 20% down. Sales would drop, perhaps prices would go down, and we can’t have that. That’s just heartless to demand any sort of responsibility of people. Only a sadistic republican would demand that people be responsible. Ah but the people at the top aren’t responsible, so whats so bad about people at the bottom trying to get their beak wet, just a little.
Mr. HouseParticipant“Can someone explain what is wrong with a temp extension of unemployment benefits and the eviction ban, given that the sides are miles apart?”
Will extending it accomplish anything? Someone the other day said things aren’t black and white, but i’m beginning to think that is a copout. If you extend this, will those people suddenly have enough money later to be able to afford what they can’t afford now? I for one would love to see lower rents due to some pressure being relieved on the market. I for one would love to see lower housing prices due to some pressure being relieved from the market. Can we all win in this life Raul? And these are the same people we’ve been telling for years to save as much money as you can, the system isn’t working in your favor. Perhaps you shouldn’t have bought a house in the past ten years but booooy you couldn’t resist those low low interest rates huh? 2008 was a learning moment, and many people decided not to learn the lesson. So if you saved and you’ve been building savings just for a moment like this, who do you screw? The people who saved nothing or the people who understood the game and have been waiting patiently for something like this to occur?
Mr. HouseParticipantMasks Aren’t Enough: Dr. Fauci Says People Should “Probably Use Eye Shields” To Protect Against COVID-19
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Mr. HouseParticipantAny bets on when we get negative interest rates in the United States?
Mr. HouseParticipantPutin invented the virus with a time machine he stole from the united states while joy riding around with donald j trump. The end goal is to demolish the fabulous corprotocracy of the united states so he can then drop the curtain to reveal that the USSR is still a going concern!
Mr. HouseParticipantI concur with Thomas
Mr. HouseParticipantI do understand human nature, and i do understand that when people in high places have everything to lose by telling the truth, they generally don’t tend to tell the truth.
Mr. HouseParticipant“As a people we need to face the fact that we actually know very little about this virus.”
Indeed, and when i don’t understand something i don’t blast conflicting information day in and day out. I tend to keep my mouth shut. I still don’t know anything about the virus because its worse then the plague for some people but most don’t even know they have it.
Mr. HouseParticipantWasn’t me, i didn’t comment that day. Thats another thing, how the big tech companies are tightening the vice on all of us. How they started doing that as soon as trump won the election in 2016. Suddenly we have fake news (which mainly is the people telling the truth) and propornot. Now they censor any different viewpoints online with regard to it which shall not me named.
Mr. HouseParticipantOh and Raul, off topic, but you had a guest post years ago. A younger gentleman in Grad school in england i think. It was an excellent post, he imagined what it must have been like to be in battle during the ancient times. And how Giant corporations are basically dinosaurs in our society is in phase change. That would be an excellent article to repost. And thank you for all you do, i do really appreciate your writing.
Mr. HouseParticipantAlso, no offense intended. I’m just tired of the lies.
Mr. HouseParticipantIf those who run our country have our best interests in mind, why wouldn’t they let the people know what was in the TPP and other great trade deals? Why did we have to pass obamacare to findout what was in it? You think, that if the rest of the world said F you to the US (china not wanting to put up with our BS anymore with regards to trade and so forth) that they would just tell us? All these people know how to do is lie. And all we know how to do is nod our heads in agreement.
Mr. HouseParticipant“The whole topic has become political, masks are no good, nor are lockdowns, if that serves a purpose. Same for they are good, just for a different audience. And if we can use it to keep Biden in his basement, we will. ”
This is true, and that is how i know its not serious. People are scared now, but not because of the virus. I bet if you ask 100 people how many know someone first hand who has had the virus, 99 will say they don’t know anyone. People are scared because everything has gone crazy, its been turned up to 11. 2008 Destroyed alot of trust in the system, this is destroying the remaining trust it had, and the trust that people have for other people. Maybe its different in Athens, but most people you walk past on the street now in america cross to the other side or walk out into the road if you’re on the same side of the sidewalk as them. Everyone is the enemy, if not because of the virus, then probably because they don’t agree with you politically. And you could write plenty about all the financial BS that has gone on for the past seven months. Why were REPOS going crazy starting september of last year and all the way up until the virus? Why did that stress end once QE was started up again on a massive scale? You might consider that just as abstract as the virus, but i don’t think so. My savings account still yields .25 percent after a decade. I still can’t afford to buy a house. I have to deal with shyster landlords who try to nickle and dime you because they are the definition of a rentier.
Why don’t you try a thought experiment on who is benefiting from this virus? You are an excellent writer, but you can’t imagine any way shape or form that this isn’t what we’re being told it is?
Mr. HouseParticipant“Every time I tweet about Covid, I lose about 100 followers. People really don’t want to hear about Covid anymore. They’re sick of it, and they hate anyone who reminds them of it.”
Well duh. EVERY DAY FOR THE PAST FIVE MONTHS ITS ALL WE’VE HEARD ABOUT. That and the information isn’t even that good. Every site you visit has the cases and death charts, EVERY SITE! Even yahoo finance give you covid stats. I feel like alex at the end of clockwork orange, you’ve all got my eyes pried open and i’m bound to chair and i have to watch covid stats and competing narratives for five months straight. Not to mention i still don’t know a single person first hand who’s had the virus.

Mr. HouseParticipantOh and the cameras didn’t work in Jeff Epsteins suicide proof cell room!
Mr. HouseParticipantAnd all the while, as you were locked up in your house and every independent business went the way of the dodo, and we all argued to boogaloo or not to boogaloo, everything changed for the worse. Based on the actions i’ve witnessed the last 20 years i’m 100% certain the government doesn’t give a F&(# about you unless their is something in it for them. Why does my government spy on its own citizens? What are they scared of? And why has it all been ramping up the last 20 years? Has my country been in a depression since the year 2000, but papered over with money printing and ginned up statistics? I’d say thats a safer bet then buying stocks.
Mr. HouseParticipantThe burden of truth lies not with myself or you, but with our esteemed governments. Now i’m only 36 but i’m rather certain the government doesn’t generally tell the truth from my short time on earth. Here is an idea, perhaps we are living thru the transition from American Empire to something else as we speak. And our kind world leaders have decided to do it some other way then world war. Do you think they’d just come out and tell you that? Or concoct some other story to keep you distracted and then one day you wake up and they’re like welcome to new world, sorry about the old world.
Mr. HouseParticipantDear everyone,
The burden of truth lies not with myself or you, but with our esteemed governments.
Mr. HouseParticipantMr. HouseParticipantBlackrock will buy them, just like last time. With 0% money from the fed. And rent them back to you for your whole paycheck.
Mr. HouseParticipantDuring a freaking pandemic? You offer a loan of 400,000 to someone who makes 40k? And you wonder why someone of us questions this pandemic.
Mr. HouseParticipantWhy do banks still offer loans of 400,000 to someone who makes 40k a year like they did to the two gents who live below me?
Mr. HouseParticipant“Let the mass evictions begin.”
That was always going to be the outcome when prices can only go up. After 2008 why didn’t these people save money? Why do these people have children they can’t afford? Why do they have cars and toys they can’t afford? Why doesn’t anyone act responsibly for themselves? Because they aren’t living in reality, the illusion, and everyday we do not let prices correct it is only going to get worse. I’ve been pondering these issues for quite some time, dabbling on leftist sites and some more to the right. All kinds of different people who react and act in different ways, but one thing applies to both. The expectations or base reality must be the same for everyone for them to make decisions on, and until prices correct they will never make proper decisions
Mr. HouseParticipantPeople are too partisan, it either has to be all left or all right, never realizing that neither extremes work well.
Mr. HouseParticipantNo one is willing to accept pain. I know its not popular to say it but people should save more, no matter what their income is. Having that money on hand for emergencies is the only kind of freedom you truly have in a system like ours. But the media and the government don’t want people to save, and the TV tells them not to. So they don’t, and then as soon as something bad happens all we here are the cries to the heavens of who will save us! Is this a society worth saving?
